We'll find out all the truth this summer during all the hearings.

Spoiler Alert: The Washington Post, the NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, Reuters and CNN aren't fake.
Its possible, both articles could be correct with one providing actual context and basis behind the discussion while the other was merely an incomplete story. For instance, WaPo reports on the shock value because that is what they were leaked. In a means of defense, Fox was provided the context of the discussion which once again makes this a non-story. WaPo was technically correct on limited context they had. FNC provided the acknowledged truth while adding in the context.

End state, WaPo fed another non-story to feed their beast of simpletons designed to have a continued rally of their base of supporters.

Speculating, it wouldn't shock me to find out the Russians are leaking a lot of this stuff to WaPo and NYT, et al.

On the contrary, I believe they have engaged in the significant amount of fake news

The big difference between the two stories is the person requesting the communication. The Washington Post claims that Kushner requested a secret back channel. Fox explains it as the Russian ambassador wanting the communication regarding Syria.

The truth probably lies with the news organization that has the best source

There is nothing illegal about back channel. Every President has used them, T Roosevelt's daughter was one, RFK was one for JFK, Nixon used them, Obama did it before he was President with Iran. Nothing illegal anyway. You guys lost and now you are rolling around pulling your hair and tearing your underwear because you lost. Get over it.
