watch out for him being the potential last assistant coach
If it's a one year thing to bring a player in... Sure? But I don't like bringing in a dude who's been in trouble at every major coaching stop. Even if Pope trusts him and keeps an eye on him, I'd always be concerned. Pope and Sandy better watch the ol fella like hawks.

i don’t see the problem with age at all. we want hip young assistants to bring in the type of players we were already getting with a yearly max exodus, transfers and ambiguous injuries? not me. i’ll take experienced coaching and players you can mold. that whole approach was losing under cal, and was the half the gripe. the teams that won in the meantime had at the very least, mostly 2-3 year players.

I don't think it is either but was referring to not caring about anyone signing an LOI. That is as valuable as assuming guys will be in your program for a 2nd yr. It's not binding and you see more examples of guys getting out that each year. Mgbako was cut loose by Duke last year.

Things happen.
I’m saying he’s not leaving the State to follow Haith to KY. Has nothing to do with LOI. I know you see yourself as knowing it all and the rest of us priveliged by your presence but a lot of also understand how LOI’s work. Please.

Ralph
In ur opinion who should Kentucky look at?
I'd go young and recruiter first--they have enough X's and O's and Analytic guys. Hart can do both and they are strong with player development.

I'd do what Oats did last year and look at bringing on Preston Murphy type--who is tied with AJ Dybantsa for instance. Came from AAU. But that's my vision of things. Pope is going to do what he wants and that's what he should do.

I don't see things that way at all. We're just talking basketball.

Agreed with you on Tre Johnson and I don't expect the next coach to be Frank Haith. Just sharing the LOI/Commitment angle which you used in a response above "Tre Johnson is committed to Texas". That means little to anyone anymore-either recruiting or roster wise. Wasn't an attack, was just talking basketball. If you would like me to not participate in your comments, that's fine. I'll stay out.

That guy your talking to likes to stir **** up and is a major “ I told ya so” guy he is just on here to argue with people nothing else. I do agree with you though the haith thing is probably bs, it was a Memphis guy who started it.

I understand that LOI’s mean little to nothing anymore. I just said that. You’re taking everything too literal. I notice you always correct people. I’ll hit ignore. Thx.

One @ralphdaltonfan >>> one hundred @Cold Stout Beer posters.

Ralph's value to this board is near the top, if not the top of the list.

You, on the other hand, defended Calipari all the way until the bitter end. Your takes have historically been awful regarding Calipari and the end of his regime. That won't be forgotten by those of us with good memories.

Doesn't mean the Memphis guy is wrong. Wasn't he on their staff recently? I'd just be surprised if it were Haith. But he's got experience and is in the SEC recruiting now (still weird with UT/OU coming into the league to write that). He also has been a HC and that never hurts to help a new Coach. That would make 3 of them (along with Fox/Hart) on staff.

It's not a big deal. Thought we all were talking basketball, pissed him off. He can ignore/block. Didn't know it was that big of a deal. Don't care and if he wants to discuss/disagree that's cool with me too. His choice.

Just waiting to see the staff filled out and the roster adding soon so maybe everyone's on edge a bit. LOL
