I was actually hoping would announce he was leaving at some point. He had the look of a guy who was looking to move on.
That makes the most sense. Good for him. He’s earned that. Hopefully, he can motivate them to finish strong.

I will shed one small tear and raise a glass in tribute for Franklin, but thanks be to the Almighty that the fan's voices do matter when we yell loud enough to be heard in the ears of the big wigs.
The environment up there yesterday was toxic, and I’m sure that the mega donors demanded that Kraft do this. When a program loses the mega donors, it’s over.
Honestly, he was the only choice, and yes, he earned it. I hope the new staff keeps him.
Ouch, I understand the frustration, but think about where we were when he first got here. We were in the depths of the abyss.
I know a lot of people on this board will be excited. I have mixed feelings. Yes, it was probably time for him to go. However, turnover at the college level brings with it a lot of uncertainty and can have big impact on recruiting, which was a strength of Franklin's. Also, I am concerned about who is up next.
It is a shame, but he kinda sorta made his bed with the "best team ever" stuff. Unfortunately, the kids may have believed it.
Based on what I’ve seen this season, the recruiting mostly has been way overrated. We can do better in that regard too.

Yep. I would have loved to see James get it done her. By all accounts a good guy. But this had to be done.

We were 7-5 and beat 2 ranked teams the year before he was hired. I’d say this year qualifies as “the abyss” more than 2013.
I was a fan of JVP, BO'B and CJF. I will be a fan of the next guy too.
He is a good guy with a good family but it had to happen.
