The SEC, maybe even southern schools in general, have gotten extremely impatient with coaches. It's like if you don't win in year one, and win the conference/natty in year two, you're gone. There is no room for gradual building or development, win now or you're gone. And it seems to completely handicap programs by doing so - you completely lose recruiting classes + kids to transfer, then the next guy is expected to perform a miracle. Then the amount of money just being thrown in the trash to pay said coach's buyout. I just read where Auburn is already getting Harsin's seat warm, and he's considering the UW job? What? One year, and I thought they've played well for year 1.

It's like everyone is expecting their next coach to be Saban, without acknowledging what Saban is doing is completely unprecedented - we're talking about the GOAT in college coaching right now. It actually makes me appreciate patience and understanding of consistency. Franklin may be having some hiccups and can be frustrating on game day, but we're recruiting at a high level and his winning percentage is solid. Let's see what Allar can bring as far as game changing QBs. It feels like we're not that far from the playoff, but also just as close to becoming UF, Nebraska, Texas, USC, FSU, Miami, etc.
