Franklin to VT a done deal?

Yep. At this point, I will concede we might as well follow standard protocol and bring back a coach we already know we’re gonna fire the next year. Then roll the dice on some unknown entity in 2027. Franklin was a nearly once in a lifetime opportunity to get a nearly sure thing.
Beamers job to take and he didn't wow. He would've went back into the honeymoon phase there while he's squarely on the hot seat here. Plus a much easier conference to go through. Doesn't make sense.

VaTech was never going to offer Bamer, it made for great speculation, but it was not a serious consideration.
Franklin has been well above average at both of his previous head coach stops. No idea why anyone thinks it will be different here.
We are hardly in a position to question if another school is satisfied with mediocrity.
The "cant win the big game" thought is what leads to that, imo.
If he is able to duplicate what he did at PSU, VT will be "stuck" complaining about 9, 10 win seasons. The horror......
When Virginia Tech looked at the seasons they've had, plus the season UVA is having this year, the fear that their stranglehold on the state and their dominance in that rivalry could flip the other way(VT has won 22 out of the last 25) pushed them in this direction. I think Tech accepts this year's Commonwealth cup is a loss, but UVA still hasn't won in Blacksburg since 1998, and has not won back to back games vs VT since 1997 and 1998. VT does not want to see UVA running off a streak in that series. Also if any other fanbase besides ours truly knows what Shane Beamer is as a coach, it's VT.

All of the people loving on Franklin were the same ones crying about not getting Herman or Fuente....
But Franklin guy. I was adamantly opposed to Herman. Didn’t have much of an opinion on Fuente since there was never much smoke for him here.
Franklin cant win big games. He's now in a conference where those dont exist. He's set.
