I think (but not certain) that I was the first person to bring up the wild @$$ pipe dream of Hoiberg coming to Nebraska if he and the Bulls parted ways. Well #8 Bulls just went up 2-0 over the #1 Celtics. I'd say those chances just went from extremely remote to non-existent.

Their end of season run + playoff performance so far likely kept his job safe in Chicago.

Most of the mess there came from the odd selection of free agents to join the team in the offseason. Not saying he will be a good coach in the NBA but the GM made some head scratching decisions.

Oh well. Off to Plan B I guess...Tyronn Lue.

If Tyronn even hems and haws for 2 seconds, then SE needs to start talking to Riley, Jackson, and maybe Pop.

I also shared your dream. Too bad it will remain just that.

Hoiberg is not going back to the college game, let alone to a terrible program like ours. He hates recruiting.

Fred Hoiberg was a very successful D1 coach before going to the Bulls. If he gets fired he doesn't even pick up the phone if he sees Nebrasketball on the caller ID
