FWIW, my Hawkeye buddies are pretty impartial to this. The fan was out of line interrupting the hand shake line. Fred probably could have done better but we honestly didn’t blame him.

A separate video going around tells the true story... the kid was further away than his phone video makes it appear and Fred barely grazed the phone f he truly got it at all... the erratic motion in. the phone video is more from the kid running away than getting slapped out of his hand. Either way security needs to keep the public away from coaches and players. They are just asking for trouble with a fanbase as trashy as Iowa's is

Oh it definitely happened that the fan from the trash base in Iowa City got into a handshake line like the moron he is and tried to gain interweb clout, which he did amongst his own trash base and only said base. Nebraska Athletics revokes tickets, issues bans after investigating Purdue game incidents
Nebraska Athletics announced multiple Husker students were ejected and received bans from future NU athletic events for their behavior during the Feb. 10 Purdue game.
Two students, Nebraska said in a statement, were ejected after “engaging in unsportsmanlike and inappropriate behavior.”
One threw an object that “hit individuals seated on the Purdue bench in the first half.” That student had his tickets revoked and received a “permanent ban” on the ability to obtain a valid ticket to any ticketed Husker athletic event, Nebraska said.
A second student used “inappropriate and unsportsmanlike language directed at the opposing bench” repeatedly after being previously warned. As he left, he was seen “removing two water bottles from the team bench and throwing them to someone in the crowd near their seat.” The student had his tickets revoked and received a one-year ban on obtaining future valid tickets.
