I've not read any comments nor have I saw any comments from Maggard since the UL loss. After the Vandy loss he was very critical of the state of the program. Anyone know of any articles by him since then? He usually writes a piece for KSR but I've not seen any.

Go to KSR and search, it's there. Think he actually has a couple of columns since the season ended.

That end of year KSR round table podcast was interesting. I suggest you listen to it.

I got the sense that Freddie backed up a little bit. Not sure if UK asked him to or not, but he seemed to simmer down a bit with his criticism some since he wrote that article.

J-Lo was particularly harsh on the receivers on that podcast. If what he said was true, I have no reason to think it isn't, then it is no wonder there was so much turmoil. It seemed that we have a lot of diva's on this team by listening to Jared's comments.

Thanks, nice article. Seems like he is more optimistic than most of our fans, surprised to see him think LB will be a high point, but with the returners and new talent it certainly could be better. Will miss #45 a lot though.

jauk, I liked Forrest. Really admired what he did with his career in 5 tough years but the "look at me throw the ball in the stands, I'm such a bad azz" vs UL did me in. An extremely selfish thing that hurt his team, could have REALLY hurt his team. Good riddance.

Yep. Thought it was just me. The announcers didn't make much of that, and I didn't get the impression it was noticed on the sideline......

That's a mistake of an underclassman not a 5th year SR with discipline. I would not be very popular with players as I would have zero tolerance for that type of garbage. My team may stink and get whipped all over the field but would not allow the team to beat themselves.

Agree. I think UK is leaning on him a bit.

They will lean on KSR soon enough too. They will use them as a vehicle to drum up support per usual.

I don't think UK would have to or need to "lean on" Maggard in any way. Freddie strikes me as the kind of guy who is a realist, who realizes that continuing to relive and beat up the '15 season serves no practical purpose in any way whatsoever. He has turned the page and is focused on the recruiting class & what we have returning in '16 & what that team will look like.

Jared seems to care more now than when he played. May be wrong on that but he didn't seem to prepare fully when he played. Wonder if someone would ask him if he would change his approach when he was at UK? I know he was a competitor and liked watching him but always left me wanting to see more.

Jared Lorenzen is keeping it real on Badet, Baker, etc. Love it... Can he coach??
That dude is all talk. Not sure i want a fat *** who never got in shape at Kentucky, and who also gave up on his team his senior year to be a coach here. Going over the middle and catching a pass is a lot harder than not eating little debbie cakes, but for whatever reason he gets away with being Mr Football.

Everybody, including him, forgets what a sh**show that last year was. But because he's so fat, people want to give him the benifit of the doubt. He was actually almost in shape his junior year. Then Brooks comes and wants to get ahead of the curve and use the QB to run. So fat boy goes off and gains 30 pounds back his senior year. Completely letting his team down. For all his talk about how tough he was and what him and his offensive line would stand for, they were complete pusses in Brooks first year. That team had no fight. He got benched at the end of the season because he threw in the towel against Vandy.

I don't know why we let that have any contact with the football team at all.

That is a unique take. That is about all I will say about that (Forrest Gump).

I don't think either Lorenzen or Maggard have done anything beneficial for the team with some of their comments. The receivers had plenty of drops on well-thrown balls but listening to them, they seemed to think anything thrown in the same zip code should have been caught. They sounded like ex-quarterbacks defending the quarterbacks at all costs and I could see how their comments could cause a rift between the quarterbacks and receivers.

It seems to me that Lorenzen's beef with some of the receivers was due to the fact they refused to go after some balls because they didn't want to get hit.
