Bahamian center Fredrick King, who signed with the Cardinals during last November's early signing period, has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent, according to 247Sports' Travis Branham.

King is the second prospect in the class to break off his commitment to Louisville. Fellow signee Warren Central (Ind.) small forward Tae Davis announced this past weekend that he was reopening his recruitment due to "recent coaching changes." Both prospects committed to Chris Mack before his departure in late January.

Not that F.King, T.Davis were great gets, but along with Williamson, Gabe, and the seniors leaving Payne looking like UofL going
to have a starting 5 and a bunch of walk ons! Payne needs to live up to the hype as a great recruiter🤞🏻 or UofL may be looking at another tournament miss and a possibly another losing record

Or KP is clearing house to open up slots for better players, which is what I suspect and hope is going on.

The talent this past season wasn’t ACC top tier quality. In fact nearly every team we played had the most athletic player on the court. Turning over the roster was needed.

I hate losing King he was the top player outside of the United States, had good size and his video looked good.

I definitely understand that, but hopefully Payne can deliver on the hype as a great recruiter! We are in definite need of the upgrade of athletes in order to not only compete, but to win!

This is to be expected. This is going to be a transition year. Who knows how this roster will fill out. Let’s see how it plays out. I am not going to get too worked up if he doesn’t land a killer roster this year. If he does then watch out.

We have to remember we will know our penalty this year after the season starts. It is impossible to tell what those penalties will be and when they have to take the penalty. Transfer wise you want kids with multiple years. A senior probably isn’t coming to Louisville.

Let’s give KP a chance. Most thought that Chris Mack was bringing in some serious talented recruits, but that really failed to materialize. King and Davis were Mack recruits, and while they may be better than what Mack had been attracted to UL in the past ……. It is quite possible that Kenny is being told by those on the AAU Circuit that neither one will fit what he will need to be successful.

If those 2 wanted to de-commit from UL, they had plenty of time before now, as Mack’s departure occurred months ago. Just a suspicion, but I would not discount the possibility that Payne discouraged both from coming here.

That is 1000% what happened.

is it false hope on my part that UL would fight penalties that severely hamper UL and esp. CKP's start ?? How many Years has this looming cloud stormed on the Cards, which had been quite the penalty on its own.....I'm certainly no lawyer but ........

seems like the ncaa has lost some credibility over last couple yrs..
same folks wanting to keep a team like Bellermine out of ncaa tourny for 4 years to "Transition" to d1

sorry...couldn't resist

I believe we have a good shot to get Sky Clark. It will be other transfers and recruits as well I believe we will have a shot at. I believe King was ranked outside the Top 100. KP probably feels he can get better guys.
