That was shocking to me too. In the early part of the season we shot 78% in some of the games. If you're not going to be on par talent-wise, at least hit your damn FT's. It's not just a matter of practicing your FT's. It's a matter of focus. Being able to shut out the crowd. It's inexcusable to shoot 12-27 from the charity stripe. Inexcusable.12-27!!! And at least 4 or 5 of those were the front end of one and ones. You are not going to win any games with that kind of shooting from the free throw line
Easy to practice on a hoop,with no crowd and no exhaustion. My friend and I used to take 10 shots each and keep going until we took a 100 each, and then start again. We always considered it bad if we didn't hit 80 out of 100, and on many occasions we'd both get into the 90's.Totally different in game results,lol.It's also the easiest thing to practice on your own
I completely agree. CJ at 7' is a better free throw shooter than our guards. Unbelievable.I am particularly disappointed in the guards. How can they miss FTs?? I'd rather see CJ step up to the line than Sanders or Johnson.
If you're a gym rat and are dedicated to FT shooting, you will be fine. Love to know who is spending the extra time to hone their craft.
