I agree with you, but this can get touchy. When you recruit the top players, there will usually be competition from top schools. Sometimes you have to be patient and hang in there. Jordan Griffin and Denzel Ware are good examples. There was a time when most coaches would pull scholarship offers on kids who verballed and then kept taking other visits. That doesn't happen much anymore. These days, most high school kids want to take all their visits. The majority of kids who verbal to Kentucky end up signing with Kentucky eventually. That was less true in 2015, but still generally true. This provides reason for patience, especially if the kid is in good academic standing. The fact that Yeast is visiting places like Iowa after moving to Indianapolis is a huge red flag. But OTOH, his Daddy's legacy at Kentucky means something to Russ. It wouldn't be the end of the world if Russ signs somewhere else. Stoops has built a lot of depth at receiver and in the secondary. But when it comes to recruiting linemen and quarterbacks, it is important to hang on to them. In most cases, plan B for linemen and quarterbacks means taking a juco. While some jucos like Za'Darius, Stamps, and Blue have gotten the job done for Stoops, it is usually better to sign a good 4 year player and develop him in your program from the start.
