Not that it matters all that much but the list says Ambry Thomas goes to Cass Tech...he goes to King...fwiw...the other Detroit 2017 player listed does go to Cass and is Thomas' cousin...they are quite close.
I think this staff has done a great job getting these top rated guys on campus! It takes work, organization, creativity and networking! However, trophies don't get put on the shelves from a camp in June! In 1985, Nebraska signed the top class in the country with Mickey Joseph, Leodis Flowers, Nate Turner, Broderick Thomas & Leroy Etienne!
I'll take the right guys with a chip on their shoulder and a shared mission any day. Not saying these guys aren't that way but let's not put the cart before the horse!
strange post. Nobody is trying to push the cart with a horse. There is something to be excited about in June. Everybody knows it's still just June.
He is a bloner. Always bitches.Agreed. No clue too why everyone wants to always compare things. Be happy that Nebraska football has some positive momentum and hopefully is moving forward. I like what we are doing and hopefully it transfers to the field. There is a lot of excitement, and hopefully that excitement doesn't cease when the season starts.
Excellent !!! Many here are still forgetting how tough we were becoming to handle at the end of the season - and the Iowa game interception fiasco was dealt with.; ask UCLA. Gotta drink the koolaide. These recruits will succeed and bring in others.Be happy that Nebraska has a head coach that recognizes/appreciates the tremendous facilities, history, social media, and fanbase to assist with recruiting. Instead of complaining and making excuses about the challenges...this football staff gets after it on the recruiting trail. Hopefully Nebraska will be able to get commits/sign more recruits that will make a difference on the field in the coming years. There will be some swings and misses on the recruiting trail but this staff should be commended for getting after it this off season!!
The staff can also help this process by utilizing the strengths of the current talent on the field and making sound coaching decisions to improve the overall record.
Nice video of Bookie and others.
That poor freshman Xavier Goldsmith, he's swimming with the sharks, these kids are a foot taller than he is. I like his heart to come out there and see if he can run with the best. Made a nice play on that fade route.
.
He'll get there. I was 5'4 as a freshman and 6'0 at graduation. He'll get bigger, stronger and meaner.Goldsmith plays on the same team as this year's composite #1 WR (composite #6 player overall...ranked #11 by Rivals). I'm not sure how many reps he's taken against DPJ because of age but this is not the first time he has gone against a shark...does it in his school's practices thus going up against those type of guys wasn't a new experience for him. But to your point, kid has some growing to do (obviously not unusual for a freshman soon to be soph)...if he does he could be a very good one.
FWIW...if there is one school in Michigan you want your coaches getting to know very well it is Cass-Tech. It is by far the most talent rich program in the state and some of it does leave. He'll get there. I was 5'4 as a freshman and 6'0 at graduation. He'll get bigger, stronger and meaner.
