As an away team I would always want to play on Fri night. The drive is going to be long whether it's Fri night or Saturday afternoon. I think kids get up more and are more juiced under the lights.

New Trier at Marist - no easy way

Willow to the Tri State to Cicero. 15 minutes from NT West Campus (where I assume their unis are) to the Tollway. Around an hour to Marist once they are on the Tri State. On a regular workday, it would be about 45-50 minutes. 90 minutes door to door, tops. I think the Marian Central vs. Payton game at Lane on Friday is worse.

On a Friday between 3-7pm, 294 south is a lot different than a regular work day. That could easily be two hours especially with the Cubs game. I work near NT and live near Naperville. One Friday I got back from champaign in less time than it took we the next week to get home from the north shore.

Getting to Lane is going to be worse though. That could be a 4 hour adventure from Woodstock this Friday

It took many people over two hours to get from Loyola to Brother Rice last Friday.

not entirely true...."the host school shall receive a guarantee of the greater of $975 or 10% of the gross income,the cost of the game officials and 15% of the net income.

The visiting school shall receive the greater of 15% of the net income or $5 per round trip mile for the first 50 miles and $3 each additional mile."

I can't understand how Rita agreed to this. Unless they really think their kids will be OK.

Don't know how they didn't push for Saturday at 1:00pm.

The coach does not want the kids to get out of their normal routine would be my guess. Taking 294 from the south suburbs up the NW tollway at rush hour is tough. I'd rather be driving twice as far if going south on I-57.

That sounds like the winner. Leave Libertyville no later than noon
Per Google maps:
Geneva->BB: 83 miles
Libertyville->BB: 94

We left Geneva at 3:15 for last year's game @ BB and rolled into town at 5:30.
It may take Libertyville 3+ hours through traffic that time of day.

The $64 question is why would Libertyville agree to a Friday night game? You would think a Saturday game would be logical! They'll have 50 fans there max.
1) Give up an extra day of practice to prepare? BB is out for revenge after last year's Semi final game!
2) Parents will have to leave work early to make the 3 hour trek!
3) Students will have to leave school early! Very few will go!
4) Compete against Cubs game.

Where is the logic?
ASININE! IMO!!

We are still wondering the exact same thing as to why Geneva agreed to a Friday night game.
Not wanting to get the kids out of their routine is what I heard but I remember playing on a Wednesday afternoon a few decades ago and it seemed to worked out ok.
