That is incorrect. North Rowan and South Stokes who will both be qualifiers in 1AA are further East than ES.
you are correct that they are qualifiers, andd they are farther east, but right NOW with the teams that are qualifying, those two are in the east, and if one more team sneaks into the 1aa West, then East Surry will be in the 1aa east.
Could be Mount Airy vs East Surry. Now THAT would be a game for the ages.
I really can't see East Surry going east. they are only 10 miles south slightly east of Mount Airy. Neither have ever gone east.
South Stokes can but it depends on their ADMs this year and the cut-off. SS ADM last year was 500. North Stokes has gone east several times in sm 1A .Their ADM was 321 last year.
North stokes will be West in 1a, South Stokes will be East if they go 1aa.
North Stokes played Lakewood & won 12-0 & Lost to South Stanly 8-35 in 2010.
If I remember correctly, the Lakewood game was played at N. Stokes and the Lakewood Coach said some of the kids got sick on the bus coming up the mountain. He said most had never seen mountains.
Absolutely, they made the trip on an activity Bus and had about 20 players and 20 fans.
What I can’t remember was Sessioms the coach or had he departed for Alleghany?
I just looked it up and posted the west brackets in my previous post. They played Hobbton @ Hobbton non-conference this year and was thinking they played them in the east playoffs years back. May have been another year they played them there non-conference I was thinking of. .
I’m an old fart and seen way to many games in my life (hope I can see a few more). I have no idea what year or what school played at NS, but they came from down east and it was a playoff game. Heck I could have thought Stanley County was down east.
