Apparently we are either planning on getting some dudes in the portal or our receivers are going to have to play both ways.

I'd be mad too if I were forced to redshirt and watch dudes playing in front of me get absolutely set ablaze by opposing WRs all year.

We will see but when your DC is in charge of the CB and that position is a turnstile something isn’t right. The guys leaving are starters or the staff liked them. Now the secondary wasn’t very good. It is possible this is a addition by subtraction.

The portal is really going to close the door on a lot of high school kids. It is coming. The risk is far greater than the reward. Football takes development and kids aren’t patient. They are active targets for tampering. When a freshman transfers the new school can now take their time in developing the kid.

Georgia’s Ameer Speed DB of interest for the program. . He will have one year of eligibility remaining in 2022. Speed, a former four-star recruit out of high school, he recorded 13 tackles in 18 games over five years at UGA. He will also have one year of eligibility remaining.

I think this just shows that the coaches realize that 2022 is a critical year for the program (on-field success mandatory) and this is yet another example - pushing a 2nd year player requiring more development into the portal and pursuing a super-senior from UGA.

I have not seen any evidence that HS seniors have been impacted by the Transfer Portal. It appears that most of this portal activity is more like free-agency trades where one player transferring from one school, prompts that school to bring in a transfer to replace the one they lost. With that said, the added year of eligibility from the Covid might affect the overall number of openings for graduating seniors.

Right now it’s a “work in process”, and UL needs to continue adding to its roster, but I really like the addition of RB Evans in exchange for Hall, and WRs Wiggins and Hudson seem to have as much upside as departing Marshall and Watkins. Sanogo from Ole Miss at LB is clearly an upgrade from DE Boykin’s transfer (still no destination suggests he was encouraged to leave by the staff).

Here where it gets bad; losing DBs Vance and Walker without any replacements to date is serious. Rumors suggest that Satterfield and his staff are pursuing candidates aggressively, the clock is ticking and the consequences are huge if we fail to identify at least 2 or 3 experienced corner/safeties who could contribute immediately.

Some will argue that losing Vance and Walker is “addition by subtraction” given their performances, but without replacement, it will be devastating to this defense in 2022.

This is the 1st year of the transfer rule teams are learning valuable lessons.

Redshirting is going to be impacted not sure the extent.

High school recruiting will change. It is a really risky transaction. There are a lot of issues.

Transfers are a know commodity with a 2–3-4 window especially if the transfer is a freshman.

The transfer pool will slowly decline over time.
