He talked more about the coverage teams, and mentioned the actual specialists separateIt's amazing to me he thinks the special teams are well-coached. We have 27 punt return yards for the entire season. Twenty seven! In ten games! Not feeling optimistic we'll improve that next year.

It's interesting, do you think he considers the returners specialists? We really haven't seen any competition for punt returner (compared to kicker) once Martin started calling fair catches back there. It just worries me that he's not concerned with the return game at all.He talked more about the coverage teams, and mentioned the actual specialists separate
Special teams is something that takes away from practicing offense. The only really bad thing with returns is if you can’t catch it. So if we can do that, let’s work on something else. Coverage lapses cause game changing shifts of momentum for the bad guys, so he has probably felt forced to think more about that. It's interesting, do you think he considers the returners specialists? No, I think he is relieved because sometime when you are on a ledge (and most of us have been there) it is comforting to have someone talk you off it. In his assistant coaching gigs there was a head coach holding his hand when needed. All he had here was Moos that wasn't around much and when he stopped by he said stuff like he expected 8 wins this year, then he'd go back to the ranch. I believe he appreciates the new AD working with him and helping him restructure so coaching can be fun again.Do you think he is almost relieved now, knowing that next year is his last year unless he wins? There has to be some sense of relief in knowing what you need to do.
Years ago I did sales, just for the summer, a buddy got me the gig. While I was there a dude that was struggling to sell got put on a plan to help him. My friend told me "That is a managing out plan, basically the create these goals that are almost unreachable (talk time, calls, sales, blah blah blah) so if you make it, you are super happy because you are getting paid big dollars BUT, 99% of the dudes don't make it and basically know it is over"
The salesman busted his *** for like the first two weeks of the plan and then basically saw the writing on the wall and seemed. content to just show up, wait for the plan to be over and get canned.
We have listened to the sunshine pumpers continue to be wrong year after year - so another year of failed predictions doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.Yes.
