I had the opportunity to meet Larry Fitzgerald last night. Great guy and a fun chat. Even though he never played against Penn State, he stills embraces the rivalry.

True, but in fairness, he played 2 years at Pitt before entering the NFL draft. While still in the NFL, he got his degree from the University of Phoenix, fulfilling a promise to his Mom who had died a dozen years earlier. Admittedly Phoenix is not Harvard, but most NFL players who leave college early never get a degree of any kind.

Larry is a highly respected leader in the community. His contributions off the field exceed those on. He’s on the Super Bowl Host Committee and had been very generous with his time to support the game.

I do wonder if he’s interested in coaching and if Bidwill made a run for him (and Kurt Warner).

I do wonder if he’s interested in coaching and if Bidwill made a run for him (and Kurt Warner).

He has given both time and money, being well known for his philanthropy. Among many other efforts, he has made 5 USO tours overseas and raised financial support for injured and critically ill members of the military. My Pitt friends tell me he is held in high esteem in the Pitt community, much like Franco Harris is in ours.
