Got this from a tater fan who posted about *****'s "reluctance" to use the transfer portal:

"We won the NC with class in 2016 and 2018. We can do it again and not sell our soul to the devil. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for our competition."

Your team was on an Ostarine bender in 2018, your QB was busy raping masseuses in his free time in 2016, and your defense was busy nut grabbing after tackles in 2016(or maybe they were playing grabass and just missed the target), and this is after one player beat his girlfriend with a towel rod, and another player threw his pregnant girlfriend down a flight of stairs(neither was disciplined) and then also O Lord and savior Dabo got a cop fired because he decided he was above paying a speeding ticket. Real class an etiquette up thar! This guy must've gotten ahold of some of that weed from 2006 Duane Coleman swears he "done smoked".

What's the real problem, no money for the portal? Newspring been bled dry?

Based on that summary, living in Cowtown makes them starved for excitement of any kind which takes lots of bag money.

They forgot about 1981 and the probation that followed. They should have joined SMU in the stands

If you are going to shame someone over weed then you might as well shame people over drinking alcohol. Alcohol is in my opinion is more of a hazard physically and mentally to the body compared tp marijuana. It is time to accept marijuana as part of United states culture just as alcohol as marijuana is legal in 24 states District of Columbia and a few U..S territories. Marijuana may be on the ballot this coming fall in Florida and South Dakota.

Clemson's high school class for 2025 is currently ranked 4th. Do they really need the portal? They have lost 12 players to the portal. We have lost 26. A bad thing about the portal is that you get either players from low-tier FBS school and lower. Players from mid-tier or even higher FBS schools either could not cut it at the school they came from, are malcontents or are not FBS material.

I have noticed that a lot of people who are into weed are REALLY into weed as far as it being some sort of culture and way of life. They pretty well order their lives around weed and the whole stoner way of life. Even alcoholics don't seem to advertise their love of alcohol with t shirts, bumper stickers, mannerisms, hair styles, etc. the way the pot lovers do.

I don't disagree with you about alcohol being as bad or worse health wise than weed but people of any age outside of the 24 states and DC who have weed are breaking the law. People over 21 with alcohol are not.

I have said all along that the portal is a fool's errand. The only team that MAY make some noise with transfer players is Ole Miss and that remains to be seen. Almost no players in the portal were starters at their previous program and most were third on the depth chart or lower and saw a more talented HS kid coming in so they knew they weren't going to be seeing more playing time. The portal is not a superstore with row after row of top talent that is available to anyone who comes along and wants them. The whole "we'll get them from the portal" idea among fans of teams lacking talent is silly.

The top programs work the portal like puppet masters. After signing day, UGA had 110 on scholarship. Kirby had to get rid of 25 players to get to 85 scholarships. He picked up about 8 from the portal so he really had to shed 33 players. You can be sure the 33 that left or will give up their scholarship are not the best players on the roster. Looking at On3 portal tracker, most ended up at lesser programs where they would be one of the more talented players on the team. Bama picked up a few more than that but they aren't building their roster with portal players. Ohio State added 6 from the portal and lost about 25. The top teams' rosters are not built around the portal but use the portal to shore up thin positions on the roster.

The portal isn't necessarily what you want to base a team's foundation on, but it's a really important tool for building and improving a team. Two of the four starting QBs in the CFP last year were transfers. Florida State went 13-1 with a bunch of transfers at important positions, including quarterback.

May I remind everyone that in 2023, our 31-30 win upthar that ended a 40 home game winning streak, likely doesn’t come close to happening without the following: Rattler, Wells, and Adkins, all of whom had outstanding games and were ALL TRANSFERS..
