Sad story. I went to Bayport-Blue Point high school in NY long ago. My sister and I were talking about it today.
WTF is so sad about Blue Point High School? Well other than the ****** teen sitcom, Saved By The Bell. Sports teams suck? terrible cafeteria food? Poor academic curriculars?

I REALLY don’t think he’s still in Florida. First off, that would be stupid and you’d for sure get caught sooner than later. Secondly, the parents are lying about where he was headed. That place they searched forever or still are, he couldn’t survive there. If they didn’t just toss him 5-6 burners and 10-20K cash to get across the border then they’re stupid because he’s getting caught in the states. A 20 something kid isn’t smart enough to evade law enforcement for long, he’ll slip up.

Be smart, go to a non extradition country or knock a girl up in Brazil and then you won’t be extradited either, I think Belize is the same. Learn Spanish, get a low level job just getting by and enjoy freedom in SA.

Cuba is cool as **** as well but you can’t own property which is actually a good thing for him. Go work on a tobacco farm for room and board in Venales and realize you’re lucky.

I don’t have a wife or kids so whatever, not talking to my family would be tough but I’d rather live free with shekels to my name in Cuba than talk to my family in prison for the next 50 years.

Used to catch some episodes of DTBH, didn't know it was still running. I do know this, every time I read a post that has his name mentioned, I get that terrible *** intro song "The Bounty Hunter" playing over and over in my head.

Well, to be fair, we don’t know how many men they have available. There could be a lot dispatched to investigate a garage door pull or get on message boards to try and organize entrapment and argue with EatsAss_420 on The Donald.
Or none to investigate sexual assault on gymnasts.

That dude is only 20 something? He must have had a receding hairline in middle school.
He sure as hell is making the FBI look silly. It's embarrassing he still hasn't been caught. The FBI and Dog and some dumbass 20 year old is schooling them all right now. Hope they catch the bastard but come on good guys. Get your **** together here.

Human remains? Odd. I figure if he offed himself, it would be fairly identifiable, just a body. If it turns out to be actually his remains, then something else happened.

This has a smell to it.
Indeed:

Laundrie's father found his son's bag

The parents walked the trail with law enforcement personnel nearby when Chris Laundrie ventured off the trail "zigzagging in different areas" and found a white bag in some brambles, Bertolino told CNN. Chris Laundrie then found law enforcement officers – who had discovered a backpack and remains, Bertolino said.

That does sound like he knew exactly where to look. Of course, his story is going to be that he already told them where to look, they just could not find him because it was under water, which may well be true.

I'm thinking the FBI found the body first. Then brought his family out there for some reason. Test them to see if they picked up evidence or see something to shake them during questioning.
