Feli posts here to get reactions. I am feeding the beast on this one and giving him what he wants but only because his statement (however benign) was intended to suggest that Gaines was not 100% on NU. That is just not supported by anything anywhere at anytime. When a poster with an agenda posts something demonstrably false, no matter how benign, it needs to be pointed out.
Feli could have posted "Gaines is one roster" but he did not. He tried to make a controversy where none exists.
Exactly. Same with the "that we're even discussing this is indicative of the situation we find ourselves in" crack on another thread, when he in his echo chamber is the only one discussing something that he then uses as a way to sow doubt into the program.
To borrow a term from debate, his shtick for years on this site is to gardenpath people into a fight over something that's not supported by fact or reasonable inference.
It's tired. It drives people away from participating on this board and having real discussion because it always devolves into the same infighting. And while I'm always up to discuss legitimate criticisms when they're merited, making statements suggesting there was ever a doubt that this player - who, as others have pointed out more eloquently than my original reply, has expressed nothing but sheer excitement to get started and was officially announced as joining the program weeks ago - would enroll is pure gaslighting. And since it's the 1000th example of the same thing, it's not benign. Rather, there's an aroma in the air, and some of us are commenting on what it is.
