I was waiting for this announcement on Gaines. It’s gonna be a thin roster tonight vs. Minny.

Buie not just out tonight, he's out "indefinitely." Turner is day-to-day.

Says lower body injury. JHC. Can we catch a break. There is attrition during the season and then there is NU basketball

Trying to see positives here. Maybe Nance will score 30 and assert himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Gonna wake up now.

Does NU actually have a training staff? So it's Greer and Spencer at the guards and then who Tino?

We really would have been able to use Jordan Ash right now. Kid is on fire for NCAA tournament team, Wright State which is 14-3 right now. Ash is a team leader on defense.

Minny does not press. Beran in the starting lineup might be the move that makes the most sense.

Buie has a stress fracture in his left foot per Teddy. That ought to take awhile, I'd be surprised if we see him again in January. AJ still dealing with thigh bruise he suffered against Hartford so he'll be back a lot sooner.

Would love to see a big game from Beran (among others). He'll get a lot of run tonight as will Jones.

So Gaines, Falzon, Buie all have had stress fracture. AJ is a knee. Law, Rap shoulders. A lot of injuries. Is this a training issue? Can we activate Audige early?!

If I didn't know better, I'd say let's get the injuries out our system this year so we can be relatively injury-free next year. But as we all know, we're almost certain to lose several next year to something like zombie attack, sympathetic leprosy, etc.

This might be the worse year in NU major sports history and that’s saying a lot.

Ha. Ha. You must be joking, grasshopper.

Some blasts from the past. Year starting in '72, football 2-9, basketball 5-19; year starting in '74, football 3-8, basketball, 6-20; the '80-'81 season, football, 0-11; basketball, 9-18; the '81-'82 season, football, 0-11, basketball 9-18. Hey, at least those last two have a ring of consistency. I could pull up some other wonderful years, but that will suffice for a start.

Really bad news on Buie. Stress fracture on foot doesn’t heal fast. With no hope this year could easily see him getting shut down for the year and getting a redshirt year.

Ash is averaging 4.7 PPG on the 104th ranked team. Hardly a tourney team. They haven’t beaten anybody. Again, they would have to win their conference tourney to get into the tourney.

Northwestern is 108th. Pretty much the same as Wright State. Competition level counts.

Following this program gives me a stress fracture
Its time to shut down, as a fan this year, and recycle for next year.
Not sure if we ever went 0-20 but this team is overmatched. Having open scholarships just allows for zero depth when injuries happen.
Any good intra mural players on campus?
Turk was right.

Have we ever had just 1 conference win between football and basketball?

I had two thoughts about the NU stress fractures. First, is our staff just better at finding them. Seriously, on other teams do they play with them or sit for a couple weeks then return without ever having a proper diagnoses?

Second thought is Under Armour. Not a shoe product I know anything about.

This is nothing more than anecdotal, and there could be nothing to it . . . but I have heard that shoes are not their strength. Take that for what it's worth.
