+ FREAKING 18 today, on a night where few players on our team were plus anything...

Someone remind me why Kopp starts over him again ?

One of the broadcasters said that Collins doesn't like all of his freshmen coming off the bench. I suppose that could help with rotations some in terms of having older players available to come in for an older player but otherwise I don't see the difference.

He’s not always going to hit back-to-back 3s, but the fact that he did probably won the game for NU. I was very close to posting about how his unwillingness to take open jumpers was hurting the team’s offense, then he just proved me wrong entirely.

Yes, teams are leaving him wide open, like they did Lumpkin, who got to be quite reliable from the corners where Gaines seems to have a better accuracy than from the middle of the floor.

If Gaines takes shots when he's wide open, and drives to the basket when there's an opening, that's great for now. In general I think he's doing a good job of picking his moments.

Maybe because they feel that is the best way to break Kopp in. Take a look at who gets the minutes and that is Gaines

Don't look now, but Gaines is shooting 45.5% beyond the arc...

And Benson is shooting 100% beyond the arc.

(Of course, Gaines only has 11 attempts and Benson only 1.)
