I'm not sure I agree with this. If he is hurt and just can't perform well, then yes, you sit him. Otherwise, I think its important that he plays, especially since this is a developmental year for the underclassmen. Having Gaines in the rotation makes this team better which helps the younger guys have the possibility for more success. It keeps them in roles that they are comfortable with and let's them see some success which is very important. If we go on to lose the rest of our games, I'm not sure how much that helps develop the young guys. They may be so beat down. But, if they get better as the year goes on and see that rewarded with some wins along the way, that bodes much better for next year and beyond. Losing Gaines really jeopardizes that as he is an emotional and physical leader out there when healthy.
