Gaines led Siena to a big comeback upset win over Rick Pitino's Iona, with 21 points and 9 boards. Glad to see he's able to make an impact at this level near his hometown in his last year.
Shows you the difference from BIG to other levels. He never came close to scoring that many at Northwestern. There's a reason there are a lot of one bid leagues out there.

Transferring to Siena was good for him. He is second on the team in scoring, first in rebounds and assists (and turnovers), and tied for first in playing time. But shooting under 30% on three-pointers.
Gaines was never a good fit at NU because he couldn't shoot the 3 with acceptable accuracy. He did work his way up to about 34% last year, but that wasn't his strength. He wanted to drive the lane and play physical - a good athlete who worked hard for NU.
