For those that were there, how electric was it? Especially the last 4 minutes?

Collins said it was as good as he’s seen.

Just shows that even with a small arena, and a lot of opposing fans there, the home court advantage can be a selling point at WRA in recruiting when you put a winner out there. Potential recruits would have to be impressed with that atmosphere today.

The atmosphere was fantastic. The students were packed in and rowdy, and everyone was wearing black so the boiler fans just blended in as part of the Cats fans. The place was hopping as the boilers never got very far ahead, so everyone was engaged.

The students stayed fired up and loud the whole game.

More of this please.

Atmosphere was great. When we finally took the lead, I couldn’t hear myself think. Incredible experience, so glad I was able to make it!

The funniest part was the Purdue fans chanting “chicken sandwich“ when we went to shoot our free throws.

Posted by a Syracuse fan on Twitter:

"That crowd is better than anything the ACC has had or has ever had imo. Electric."

(It looked and sounded incredible on TV).

That game shows just how incredible it can be here. It was easily one of the best atmospheres I've seen for a college basketball game on TV.

Insane is an understatement. Students were huge. DUI chant was epic. The NU crowd was great. Smart to have a blackout game-Purdue fans got loud at times, but you could definitely feel the home court advantage, especially late.

Can we wear our “Chicago” jerseys with the hint of red in them on Wednesday and have a red out?

Let’s give all three sections behind the West basket to the students from here on out. Please.

What was the DUI chant? Context?

Personally, I’ve always preferred small, loud and rowdy places over big, loud and rowdy places. I once saw a KY at Louisville game and the arena holding 20,000 was deafening. Still prefer the same at a smaller scale.

One of the Purdue players, whenever he was on the court, the students were chanting “DUI!” I’m guessing that player has gotten a DUI recently.
Google reveals it was Mason Gillis, in 2021. Gillis did some solid shhhhh’ing of the students after starting 3-for-3 outside, and less of it after finishing 0-for-4.

He was making gestures after being called for a flagrant

Am I the only one who can't appreciate the atmosphere in the last four minutes? The turn-around was so quick and so mind blowing. I barely know what hit me on the court much less off the court.

I can't wait to get home and watch all the BTN goodies after this little football game.

Holy ****. Blood alcohol content of 0.272 is basically alcohol poisoning territory (0.3). Legal limit is 0.08 % so this dude was over 3x the limit. DUI DUI.
Also what I was thinking. That’s legit terrifying he was on the road.
Doesn’t make any better he was making “my parents will sue you” comments.

This was exactly what they were hoping for when the built the stadium. If you win, the students and fans will come. Place was rocking!

(It was good)
Thanks for sharing this - I'm living overseas and as an NU alum it priceless to see something like this that shows how far things have come in terms of the game environment. (versus the dark years when I attended).

It was electric the entire game. It was so much fun. I was saying during the game that even if the Cats lost, it was worth the trip.
And then, and then, and then……

My first time in the new WRA. Lots of Purdue fans - they definitely made their presence known throughout the game, but the NU fans were loud too. So proud of the student section - they were great.

But the last 4-5 min: goosebumps. Absolutely deafening when Chase threw down that dunk after his steal, coming right on the heels of his corner 3.

Most electric NU game experience I’ve been at since 2017 in SLC. So glad I made the drive up from Champaign. Go Cats!

Here’s my game story — it was the first one I’ve missed all year — instead I listened to it on WGN while driving my youngest daughter home from a soccer tournament in Louisville. But I gave my tickets to my middle daughter, NU class of ‘21. Her freshman year was the Allstate season, her senior year was the Covid season, and not much good happened in between. I’m so glad she was able to experience history on Sunday afternoon. She told me it was the happiest day of her life.

Atmosphere was lively throughout the entirety of the game. The last 4 minutes was a different story, absolutely electric. WRA was rocking like I've never seen
