How it happened: California outlasts No. 15 Louisville 29-26 in overtime
Louisville football was handed its second loss of the season on Saturday night, this time at the hands of California, 29-26 in overtime.
We’ve given Ron English a lot of praise this year, but it was pretty clear from the postgame that CJB has just about had enough. Leaving De Jesus in single coverage was unbelievable.
Was disappointed in the defensive back’s (Rodney Johnson?) awareness on that final play. You’ve got to figure the play is coming your way, and with only 2 yards to go, getting beat short is just as bad as getting beat deep.
We’re also blitzing to force the QB to throw the ball quickly, so the pass is almost certainly going to be a quick one to De Jesus at the goal line.
The DB should step in the passing lane made between the QB and the goal line, and force the QB to either throw the ball over his head, or hold the ball a little longer until De Jesus makes a second move.

100% agree.. that sideline pass was their bread and butter all night..
