I took someone I knew to the Gomer Jones Cardiac Arrest Center early last season where there were plenty of people with heat issues…. I was shocked that it was so warm inside and by there not being any cooling fans….I hope OU has improved this aid station.

Supposedly OU has added some cool zones?

For these high heat games I drink a Zero sports drink on Friday evening and cold water on Saturday…

Sun screen is a must Saturday if you’re in the sun.

Gomer Jones has air conditioning, a window unit in the front and central plus a window unit in the back. The volume of people in there and the constant opening of the doors during the hot events makes it a little warmer up front. The back stays pretty cool.

OU has had cool zones for years. They are actually staffed with nurses.

Good luck Medic....
Thanks kc! We're gonna need it. Heat index of 110 was the latest forecast I saw. We've staffed up in anticipation of a busy game. I've got 9 paramedics on bikes, 4 ambulance carts, paramedics in the upper decks and club levels, double ER physician and nursing staff, and several transport ambulances. Our field paramedics will likely stay busy keeping the player cramps under control too.

Medic and his peeps are gonna be working their butts off!
Yeah, gonna be difficult to watch the game. I don't mind being busy, but I at least like to see some of the action.

It’s great to have Medic on our board. Love his first hand input. Boomer, Medic.
Sooner! Thanks Oklabama!

Medic is gonna hook me up with free water so I don't have to pay the $4.50 a bottle lol.
I've got gatorade too. You know how to find me. Rumor is that the price for bottled water will be reduced for the game. You and "little" Yankees need to stay hydrated. I know he's probably used to the heat. It's you we have to worry about. :D

This will be the first game where metal detectors will be used at the gates. It's gonna be a **** show for sure.

Dude I actually had somewhat of a heatstroke this year while umping. It was a bad feeling lol.
Well don't have one on Saturday. The thought of you being unconscious and defenseless in my presence should be a heat stroke deterrent for you. You never know what special treatments my coworkers have up their sleeves for friends of mine.

I was in the back for about 15 min… This was 45 minutes before the game…it was warm to hot in the back… a few cheap fans would have helped. So would about 2 more high BTU window units.

IDK the locations, but Joe C spoke on the radio yesterday about new cool zones being added for this season.

If they would let me take a full bag of ice in I would. I have started drinking zero tonight and have spent several hours outside working in the full afternoon sun this week.
