When was the last time there was this level of hype going about a game in Lincoln?
And when is the last time that we even won such a game?

Missouri in 08?
I mean generally the same hype. 08’ Missouri game we lost 52-17 but thought it was pretty hyped and supposed to be a statement in Bo’s first year.Yep we beat a 6-7th ranked Missouri team but I don’t think College Game Day was year then.
They rolled us in 08'. You could be thinking of the Thursday night game where we beat them in the monsoon in 09' or the 10' game when Helu ran for 300+. They were ranked, I believe, #6 then and where coming off a win against #1 OU (with Gameday in town) the week before.Yep we beat a 6-7th ranked Missouri team but I don’t think College Game Day was here then.

I wouldn’t say the only way to be as hyped as tomorrow’s game is gameday, or you definitely cannot pick from many.
Number 6 ranked MSU with Mike Riley as Head Coach?!?!
It was the one where we actually won.Was that the one where we had 5 turnovers in that first half ? I have a bad feeling about this game. Felt better last year.
judging by the opinions on this board, I would say the people outside of NE fans are the only ones who expect a competitive gameLet's be honest, the only reason Game Day is here is that the rest of the national schedule is weak. We're excited about the chance we can pull off a stunner, but I'm not sure many outside of NE fans expect this to be a competitive game.
Queue the Debbie Downer meme.
Not sure, we were only a 6 point dog to MSU that year. Deep down we all knew MR wasn't going to get it done here. Just didn't seem as big as this Ohio St game. We get this win it is huge for everything football related. I honestly can't think of a bigger game all things considered. Especially one where we are a heavy underdog looking to pull a major upset.Number 6 ranked MSU with Mike Riley as Head Coach?!?!

I don't feel any hype. I live and work about a mile from the stadium. See hundreds of people a day who live in Lincoln. Not one person talked about it all week. I brought it up to the two biggest husker fans I know...they both said "It is going to be ugly". I fear that fear is the sentiment for the average fan. When was the last time there was this level of hype going about a game in Lincoln?

And the game was nowhere close to what that score looks like...Now if you’re talking College Game day and all that involved, we have to go back to 2001 when we hosted number 2 Oklahoma and had College game day here and we beat OU 20-10.
We had that in 2007 when we played number 1 USC. But we lost that game 49-31.
And the game was nowhere close to what that score looks like...
That's for damn sure. USC had pity for us & had their water-boys play the whole 2nd half. They kindly just ran it up the middle too.
The most humiliating NU game I've ever seen. Even worse than Smiling Mike's horror shows.
In my opinion, Husker fans have been burned too many times to get pumped sans the standard beginning of a new season where hope springs eternal. Just too many big games against Wisconsin (under Pelini), Colorado (Frost), Ohio State, Miami etc under Riley. Every one of those losses rips at the soul of a fan. The team is going to have to earn some of that hype and confidence again on the field.I don't feel any hype. I live and work about a mile from the stadium. Worse than Joe Daily’s and Beau Davis interception party in Lubbock we’re we lost 70-10?
This. I talk to my family in Lincoln every day and they, rabid Husker fans all, are largely indifferent about this game and are just hoping we don’t get totally humiliated. I sense no hype in Lincoln for the game. I think there is more excitement for Gameday and the announcement of new facilities than the game itself. Very few people I know think we will winI don't feel any hype. I live and work about a mile from the stadium. See hundreds of people a day who live in Lincoln. As bad as that Tech loss was, it felt like we spotted them like 42. I’ve felt worse about 50 times since....Worse than Joe Daily’s and Beau Davis interception party in Lubbock we’re we lost 70-10?
We haven't earned the hype for this game. The only reason people care is because of OSU not Nebraska...same went for 2007...once we rock some teams in the first 4 games and come into a big game undefeated and top 5 then the hype will be real.In my opinion, Husker fans have been burned too many times to get pumped sans the standard beginning of a new season where hope springs eternal. Yes that USC game was suppose to be our return to glory. And everyone remembers that game for how they just ran the dam ball up the middle on us. The irony is our D-line that was abused included a young Suh on it. But yeah, that was the last hyped game I remember. Tonight’s game isn’t as hyped IMO since we have the lossYes sir. To me that was even worse. If inclined USC could have easily racked up 80+ points. But you're right, that was an extremely horrible game too.
