I wasn't able to watch today's game. I was playing / coaching in a tournament.

Question- a lot of criticism of the coaches on this board. Sounds justified. I haven't seen any threads beating up the defense. As mentioned, i didn't see the game but the defense had to be impotent in the 2nd half?

Offense was ineffective too. A&M was very cold in the first half and caught fire in the second half. Sadly, we had no answer.

It was a team effort on the loss in the 2nd half.

D couldn't stop A&M for anything. We were impotent on offense.

TBH, the first half was more a product of A&M just playing like crap. The QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and their clutch receivers were dropping easy catches. They got it sorted at halftime. Reed was dealing and the receivers were holding onto everything. Once they started playing like themselves, we didn't stand a chance.

Eh -- Not really.

I mean, the way I view it is our D played well enough to win that game. It was the offense (cough Sellers) as usual running out of bounds backwards, eating sacks because he won't throw it, .....and that stupid, stupid, stupid, idiotic running play - misdirection to the right side of the line that picks up millimeters to inches, if not an outright loss of yards on the play......

Bottom line: If our offense could have put up just 2 TDs in the second half we'd have won comfortably. Assuming we would have scored 2 TD's in the second half , it would have greatly eaten into A&M's TOP and they probably wouldn't have scored at least 2 of their TD's.... so to sum up, our offense once again sucked. We're not running the ball on anyone. Our OL is beyond putrid. - That's my take.

In the end, all we needed was a field goal in the second half to win. Pathetic that our offense couldn't drive down the field close enough to the end zon to put us in that position (they did one time get to the 30 yard line but the coaches weren't confident in our kicker making a 45+ field goal on the road).

At Beamer's halftime interview, he said, "I mean we beat them by 24 last year." Basically said, "Why would anyone doubt this result." Elko played that in the aTm locker room and that was the end.

Sellers completion rate was 51%, and drops weren’t really a problem, he just missed fired over and over and then started taking sacks. Pretty hard to watch the 2nd half. Be thankful you didn’t see it.

I think if either the offense or the defense had looked competent in the 2nd half, we would have won this game. I don't think the defense gets a pass in this collapse. This was not a case of the defense wearing out late in the game because the offense couldn't keep them off the field. A&M practically erased the lead in the 3rd quarter when the defense should have still been relatively fresh.

Our run stopping was stout, but it's like we failed to anticipate that they would have to throw the ball a lot in the 2nd half. Once their QB stopped throwing the ball to our guys and their receivers stopped dropping balls, our pass D was pretty ineffective - at least until they took the lead.

We don't have the number of players other teams have. After our first string wears down, we get pushed around

Our db’s were worked all game; we couldn’t cover their receivers or their scheme. Qb was misfiring in the first half and their receivers were dropping gimmes. I think they viewed us as an open date; once the qb learned he’d have to make an actual effort it was over.

Sellers has gone back to sliding and focusing on protecting future earnings, plus he has the same problem Shaw had early that is obvious from the end zone camera; he can’t pull the trigger, and when he does he throws fast balls that either sail or the receivers muff.

And I swear if I see that misdirection thing to the right one mo ‘gin I’m going to need a new tv.

Seems to me like atm made adjustments at halftime based on the defensive looks and were basically able to do whatever they wanted in the second half on offense. Bad defense aside, if the offense even had a slight pulse in the second half Carolina would have won.

Came here to say the same. Losing 3-30 you make adjustments to play better. And they needed to make a lot. Winning 30-3 you don’t.

That's it in a nutshell. We couldn't score three points in a half of football. It defies belief.
