Benny Snell is the best looking freshman RB we have signed in many a year

Defense has some young players that can be a good nucleus, Ware, Jones, Allen and Eli Brown

Yes, we beat two terrible offensive teams in SC and Vandy, but to play 8 quarters against SEC competition and give up ONE TD on defense is about all you can ask from anybody

Offensive line is at least run blocking pretty effectively, otherwise we would not have gained 250+ yards yesterday with no threat of a passing game

Kentucky at least still has a chance for a good season - consider that we have not beaten Miss State since 2008, have not won three SEC games in a season since 2009, and have not won three SEC home games in one season since 2006, and have not EVER won three games against East Division rivals, then you can see the team has an opportunity to at least make something positive from 2016.

As a QB, Stephen Johnson reminds me a lot of Matt Roark, appears to have pretty much the same skill set

GD it - UT San Antonio hung 55 points on S. Miss - how in the hell did we ever blow a 25 point lead in that game??? Just unbelievable how much of a difference winning that game would mean for the rest of the year.

Barring a complete collapse, and losing badly to nearly everyone except for Peay, I think Stoops will be back next season, so I am done speculating on new coaches, just ain't gonna happen.

If Roark could have thrown the ball as well as SJ we would have gone to an SEC championship game in 2008, 09, and 10.

I agree with everything you said, except for your comparison of Steve Johnson and Matt Roark. Johnson is a juco transfer quarterback who has started 3 games, and 2 of them have been subpar performances. There is a reason why Johnson was unable to beat out Drew Barker, who isn't exactly Tom Brady himself. But Johnson has some skills. When I watch Johnson, I see a kid with a big heart who could become a decent quarterback if he was 20 pounds heavier and stronger. Right now, he just isn't. The rest of your post is on point. Tennessee and Florida are the best teams in the SEC-E. South Carolina and Vandy are the worst teams. Kentucky, Missouri, Georgia will play for clarification of the middle part of our division, and I expect to lose both of those games unless Johnson rapidly undergoes a miracle transformation. All along, I have predicted 4-5 wins in 2016. That prediction still looks right to me, and Stoops will be back with 19 incumbent starters and both kickers in 2017.

I think a dual threat qb is the way Kentucky has to play. Having one more weapon at that position helps mask other problems of the offense. That being said, Johnson has to develop the passing part of the dual threat, but I like the fact that we can drop back to pass and turn a disaster into a big gain. After watching a lot of college football this year, the one thing that seems to stand out is the teams that put pressure on opposing defenses by having the quarterback run the ball.

Stoops is staying even if he don't get to a bowl. There will be a healthy QB competition next year and the team will be much better

This is a very accurate call as to how things stand right now.I think the QB situation will be more defined in two weeks time,we have to have somewhere else to go if Johnson struggles to this extent next time out.We have to have a second option that we are willing to use

There is little point in beating a dead horse but game 1 will haunt us all season and depending on how things play out maybe even longer. It is scary that one game could mean that much to a program but that is how fragile UK football is and has been for the past couple of years.

We should not have been in the position of having to sweat out the last minute of the game yesterday,we did that to ourselves early in the second half more so than anything Vandy did to be in position to tie the game
