Good win.

Nice to see Ty hits bigs shots and boost confidence.

Collins is doing a good job coaching, went small first game and bigger this one,

Team will get better as they get healthier.

Really nice win. That Dayton team looked good.

Amazing how well we handled their press. Historically, NU teams always struggle with that. Not these guys. Awesome job!!

Tuned in late, but caught the last 12 min. Dayton did look good - this looks like it will end up being a quality win. Go Cats!

Buie/Langborg/Barnhizer all 3 legit scoring options if we can shore it up defensively this squad can definitely push for another spot in the dance

That was fun. Stressful at times, but Cats made plays when they needed them.

Holmes is a unique talent. Really tough guy to guard, especially with Dayton red hot from three. I think we had one TO in the second half. Shot selection was good outside a few Martinelli spasms. Very good job!

Dayton guy behind me tells me they lost their starting point guard for the season. He’s not sure how well they’ll do without him.

They looked pretty good from three, but the interior wasn’t there so much.

NU will be very good this year, even dominant if they continue to improve. Great win against a VERY quick team. Proved they can shoot, and defense even without Audige was quite solid. They seem to have trouble defending against the 3.

I have never heard of a team having one turnover in the second half. That, good defense, and free throw shooting are why we won the game. Hope Dayton wins out!

We left 10-12 points on the table with missed layups. Missing bunnies seems to be in our DNA.

Nice student attendance tonight. Student section seemed 95% full and seems it’s expanded this year!

Happy to report that we're NOT outnumbered by Dayton fans, but the ones here are certainly loud.
Those fans had no game. LET’S GO FLYERS is all they knew, and they were powerless when they couldn’t get everyone to join in.

Like I said the Flyers are a tough team. They came back and hung in with the Cats until the end. I think this is a quality win for us at home. Go Cats!

Ty Berry has regressed. Harming more than helping out there
Play of the game - Berry hustling for the offensive board and getting rewarded with a big three moments later. I lost my voice two days ago, but I found it then. You just knew it was over.

Dayton fans were salty at Bluestone. Said they were “clearly the better team.” I dunno guys, you shot a fluky 50%+ from three on high volume and still took home an L without leading or tying down the stretch.

Back to Boo / Barnhizer / Langborg. As the game wound down, something hit me about this group. I'm not sure I remember an NU team with three pretty capable ball handlers who we can also be so confident with at the FT line.

They’re crazy. When you’re outrebounded, lose the turnover battle and are only in the game because you shoot 50% plus on 3s, including a couple as the shot clock is winding down, you’re lucky to be in the game. We win 8/10 against them.

Plus Berry and Martinelli can also handle it decently. The whole team knows how to move without the ball and have a sense of the clocks - 5 sec, 10 sec, shot clock - and how much time they have. I’ve never said this since much for a NU BB team…they are well-coached.
