I think it is possible that we did not have a game plan today.
Hummel was alarmingly vocal in how much he disapproved of what we were doing personnel-wise.

I think it’s possible that we assumed Edey would guard Nance, and when that didn’t happen we had to adjust on the fly. Either way, I would have just let Beran try to create some offense with Edey on him. He can make an open 3 and has actually had some success driving to the basket as well.
Overall it was a rough matchup, and always was going to be. Hopefully Audige isn’t too hobbled from his injury and Boo got his swagger back from his little 9-0 run. I also liked what I saw from Roper in his first start, and Nicholson is looking more comfortable out there each game.
I was just really, really surprised when Collins brought Nance back in with about 8 minutes left to go and made him guard Edey. Nance, in fact, did not really try to guard Edey. He was out there with Beran.

Williams and Young were out there with 3 subs, allowing the defense to collapse on them.
Roper tried a stepback 3. So did Williams.

If that were true we’d have seen an adjustment. We didn’t. Nance should not have been on Edey to begin with. Let alone stay on Edey every time they were both on the floor. And it is true that Hummel voiced his dismay on at least two moments I remember: one in each half.
As long as Buie is out on the floor, we will live or die with him. Mostly the latter. He flashed tantalizing promise with his hot shooting but then eventually reverted to bad Boo by turning the ball over in the lane (about the 3rd or 4th time he did it today) and airballing a three attempt. Such a frustrating player.
He has taken 10 shots in the last four games- making four of them. That’s about what he is and how much he should be shooting. Not sure I understand the point/implication of your question.
