Thanks for the grammar lesson Karen. If you can’t build a roster, with that money, at UK that can finish 6th in the effing conference and get blown out by Rick Barnes in the tourney…seriously…what are you? He might be good. He might not. But this BS narrative that he built a roster from nothing, in this landscape, at effing UK, is just tired. He spent more than anyone else. At UK. Everyone is building a roster from nothing. He had 20ishM to do it. I like Pope. I do. But I’m not sold he’s worth a crap. Jury is till out there.
Karen? Eat me. He beat Rick Barnes TWICE. Good thing it doesn’t mean anything that you’re not “sold.” He’s the coach and he did a great job last year and will be even better this year.

The sit-down with Stoops at the end of the season needs to go like this:

"We know you're miserable. We know you were A&M bound before the fans there revolted. The fans here despise you. You look tired and bloated. Give us a reasonable number to walk away and we'll cut the check."
Or your gone and we will figure out payment later.

Same team from last year and the year before, copy and pasted. I will be surprised if UK wins an SEC game this year, especially since they've been struggling with freaking Vanderbilt lately.

You should stick to football. You have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to basketball.
Thanks for the completely opinionated and non fact based reply. You love Pope because he’s a former UK player and good WASP? I like dudes that are killers that win. Jury is out on Pope. 6th in the SEC and the S16 isn’t anything to get my panties wet.

lol, another UK fan that thinks a fellow UK fan is a U6 fan just because they speak the truth. Hey UK lost, but they covered the spread, you going to be celebrating tonight?
Your team looked like doo doo last night...Can't wait to watch them go 7-5 in that high school conference

Did he beat Barnes when it actually mattered? How’d that one go?

Everytime I see you active on here, you are a bull in a china shop. Find somewhere else to post if everyone here is "beneath you." Aybody can hide behind the internet and talk tough.
What am I hiding behind? It’s not about being beneath me or anything. It’s just about having a clue. A lot in here don’t. More on the basketball board don’t.

1st year coach, that had to bring in all new players that never played together, finished 7th not 6th in the toughest basketball conference in the nation, won 8 games against top 15 opponents, had to deal with losing his back up PG early in the season and then losing his starting SG in the tourney along with having is starting PG dealing with a shoulder that was ready to fall off and still made the Sweet 16. My panties got wet.

See…I can at least respect this. But again, got exposed. Just got rolled in the S16. Got bounced in the SECt. His first year was fine. If it got your panties wet, so be it. He did what he should’ve done. Nothing more. Nothing less. I tip my hat for that. Year two is a way bigger measure than year one.

I was all set to not watch any basketball games last year when Cal was coming back, I admit I was not excited with the Pope hire and fully expected a bad season for his 1st year, but I was just happy to see a light at the end of the tunnel and was surprised with how well he did his 1st year. Now a few years down the road might be different, but at least for now I got hope, even though hope is a dangerous thing. :D

History says if you aren't a drunk you are winning a national title at UK. I think Pope will get it done but NIL era is different. UK seems to be spending a ton and that is what won OSU the title n football last season.

I agree with you he still has a lot to prove though. By historical UK standards, last year was an average type finish at best.

Idgaf. He could’ve played zero before that snap on 4th down. Turn the damned pigskin loose. Seriously. What’s he got to lose?
For Coach Pork Belly ... playing CB is an investment in the Program. Playing Calzada is a weak attempt to stop the bleeding for one season ... classic Stoopid move.

Agreed. But the Kentucky people who can’t get past a big goofy religious white guy did average things after dealing with Cal things (I get it), just can’t see the Forrest for the trees. Jury is out. Hope he’s good.

Buddy, I don’t disagree. But Cutter HAS GOT TO THROW THAT EFFING BALL on that play. When he didn’t, it made me think he sucks and there’s a reason he couldn’t beat out some dude who has played for seven years who DEFINITELY sucks.

You must be a kid obviously you haven’t been through to many games like this. If you had you would be like the rest of us. Nobody has quit on the team, but when you lose over and over again because of mistakes and confusion, it gets old fast. You can’t stay optimistic about a team that can’t get out of its on way.
LOL, I have followed UK for 55 years. Seen every coach since the Bear. Never missed a second of the 0-10-1, 2-9, and 4-7 seasons. Got news for you youngster, UK has never been a powerhouse FB school and will never be. With NIL, now UK has 2 major donors while Tennessee and Lsu, and Florida of the SEC have 10 plus. Stoops 78 wins at UK have been a huge success compared to all other coaches UK has had.

In today's game all Coaches have to bring in all new talent every year and very few have 20 million to do it with.

I must have missed all the other teams that lost every single starter from the previous year, every single bench player, and their recruiting class. Hmmmm....I just checked and yeah no other team lost all that. Florida returned 2 starters and 4 contributing players, Tennessee returned 8 scholarship players, Auburn returned 6 scholarship players including their top 2 scorers.
