Give credit to Collins for benching Beran, playing Nance almost the entire 2nd half from there and using Williams and Young with Nance. That won the game. The inside game spun 180 degrees and we DOMINATED the paint.

The little switch to put Beran back in for the last 10 seconds also made sense and worked nicely.

Couldn’t post during that comeback, but win or lose at least we showed grit in the second half. Completely different team. I guess that is what is so frustrating. Pretty much to a man they turned it up.

Cats held firm down the stretch for a change. Collins actually coached well. Glad he listened to @PurpleWhiteBoy and played Nance and Young together.

Yes!We have lost our fair share of these type of games but not tonight.Great comeback hard fought win.Buie with a great second half. The guys have played hard all year and were rewarded tonight.Nance and Young finally played together for a good part.Should have seen that more this year but we got it tonight.Good win and we will see what the guys have left in the tank against Io-a tomorrow.

Not to brag but, at a time, my head was on the Jumbotron, in front of a dancing couple. So I’m kind of a big deal now

Hey, just to be optimistic...

when we played Iowa a week ago, they killed us 82-61. Thats not good.

But Young and Nance played 13 minutes together and we beat the Hawkeyes 30-24.

In other words we shredded them offensively with a big frontcourt.

In garbage time
Not really, Cooky.

In our prior meeting with Iowa, the Young / Nance combo won 10-7 in the first half.
In the 2nd half, they played together from 13:36 to 5:55 and won that long segment 20-17.

Then it was garbage time.

Keegan Murray had 26 points and 18 rebounds.
Beran and Nance got smoked 22-8, giving up 7 offensive rebounds in under 7 minutes.
I can account for 18 offensive rebounds for Iowa for the game.
Do you know how many were against our frontcourt of Nance and Young?
ZERO. Thats right. ZERO. Not a single offensive rebound for the Hawkeyes in 13 minutes.

Also noteworthy about that game - Greer and Buie did not play together at all that night, so hopefully we change our approach somewhat.

We have a chance.

And we beat MSU without our only player who earned a post-season award. One player is not that impactful all the time.
Further proves my point that Young was so wildly underutilized all season long. He was the catalyst there.
