Northwestern (1-0) plays Dayton (1-0) tonight at UD Arena. Tip off is set for 6:30 pm CT and the game will air on ESPN+.

Wow. This Dayton defense is so much better than lehigh’s. Three turnovers already (including two by Windham). Two second-chance baskets are nice though.

Our guys need to relax. They look a bit intimidated by the pressure and capacity arena.

Only Nick looks cool as a cucumber.

Both teams not shooting well although Dayton finally hit their last two 3-pt shots.

Nice 12-0 run for Cats, led by Jello (probably supposed to spell it Gelo, but I like this better). 27-14 with 4:00 minutes left.

Collins in midseason form as far as being outside of the coaching box. Someday he's going to get a tech at the worst possible time.

I’ll take the 32-24 halftime lead but felt Collins could’ve drawn up a better play at the end. Why not draw up a play for Martinelli? Leach ain’t Boo Buie, not even close. Mart is unstoppable, 15 points and 8 rebounds.

Not impressed by Leach tonight. Left their hot shooter open in the corner for a three, shaky ball handling, poor passing.

Windham heating up - made his last two, including a sweet drive.

(as I type, he missed a three on a fast break).

Windham was much better Monday, but I still love how fearless he is. It's going to be fun to root for him and Jello the next four years.

Trying to sync WGN and ESPN+, and it just can't be done! After every commercial break it's way off. I give up.
