I must be watching something different than you. NU had no one that could defend that quickness. IMO, the issue with this team is clearly on the defensive end. I think Mullins is the only above average defender we have. A few others are adequate. C Lowe will be busy this week.
I’m talking about Wyndham defending one on one. There were a couple instances where one of their guards tried to break him down, and they couldn’t. He defended well last year against some of the better guards in the conference.

on whole, our perimeter defense is pretty bad.

First game I watched with full attention. Paying close attention.

Some first impressions:

1) Tre and Gelo playing so much time together worries me. For now they are both the not aggressive type. Defenses sag on them. It leads to space reduced for Nick and Page to operate. Gelo had a great game, but he’s still learning and Tre is a freshman

2) KJ played well while he was the lead guard in the 2nd half. I thought, coming into the season, that would be our first option to rest Reid. We actually lost the game when Reid came in, with like 10 to go. KJ did not sit, he was moved off the ball.

3) This is a very talented group. I dare to say the most talented I’ve ever seen at NU. But its talent as in skill. Maturity is very raw. It’s one senior and one junior, who has barely played to this point, in the starting 5. I’ll have a high tolerance level because of that. So, so immature

Tons of room for growth. Some signs of aggressive Gelo last night. Tre is so smooth, it looks like he’s loafing.

I’ve always thought KJ should be the guy. He’s a reliable ball handler, our best outside shooter and capable defender. No real holes in his game.
He hasn't made the leap yet this year maybe he'll have that moment where he asserts himself as a go-to. Seems unsure of himself on offense and first look he gets he hoists, even if it's not a great look. Would love to see him dribble drive and create more.

He needs minutes to get going
