Let’s see if we can actually hit some open looks. Against Butler we shot 25% from the three, and 36% overall. Want to see a big bounce back game from Nick.

Dammit another slow start by the Cats. Barney is taking over Nick’s shooting woes from yesterday.

At the first timeout, we’re leading 5-4 but shooting 1-5 from three, UNLV has 4 offensive boards already.

Just don’t have a guy with top offensive skills

NU basketball is like NU football. We are much better when we have a point guard (or quarterback) leading the way.

Way too many of our guys are hesitant to take initiative. Very reminiscent of the Dayton game. Not sure why UNLV would seem intimidating, but here we are.

Jello passed up a couple of good shots. Put up or sit down!

I’m wondering at what point Hunger is in danger of falling to 3rd in the rotation.

Martinelli has stopped shooting 3s. Why? All he does is drive and this team is waiting for that with shot blockers.

No point guard and lack of 3 point shooting threat makes us very one dimensional.

We were also very close to losing to Eastern Illinois and Montana State at home.

Keep hoping something will click but hasn't happened yet.

Does Leach have foul trouble? He didn’t play much, but I came in late

Now our shooting is finally improving, except Berry. Don’t know how he missed that wide open three. Leach is streaky and we need to ride him while he is hot.

But can’t stop their guard Thomas, he’s shredding us

Feel like NU will miss Barnhizer more next year than they miss Boo this year.

And they really miss Boo this year.

I have seen a few possessions where Ty is literally camped in the right corner and does not move. I wonder if there is some way to run some action for him driving the lane. Have to get him going somehow.

Barny carried the team tonight. 23 pts, 4-7 three pointers, 9 rebounds, 6 assists. Leach also has a good shooting night despite the bs fouls against him: 15 pts, 3-3 on three pointers.

The Good: 8-18 from 3; 26 FT for us vs 10 for UNLV
The Bad: 8 missed FT
The Ugly: offensive sets: Ty’s shot

Another ugly: it seemed they got way too many offensive boards and putbacks.
