Martinelli injured with rolled ankle, just hope he can return. At keast he was able to put weight on it. The slo-mo replay looked like the ankle was really bent with the weight of a Badger player.

Nick is back hope he doesn't make it worse. And on another note why is Clayton playing so much
Really strange lineup I guess Collins thinks this group gives him better defense but there's no offense at all from Clayton

Really is surprised how little Angelo is playing since he had such a great game last time

We are actually even on rebounds and shooting percentage at this point and down 18. It is all about bad defense tonight.

Clayton has not finished strong on defense. He can’t contain those guards either - it seems we have no one who can contain quick guards. I think it’s our major flaw.

Rebounding- Badgers still killing us on the boards leading to them getting extra shots. Played better in the 2nd half but Wisconsin just better.

Well, we made it look respectable in the end. Played much better defense in the second half, though I'm sure part of that was Wisconsin relaxing being up so much.

Although that ended up being only a 12-point loss, it was pretty damn demoralizing.

Classic sequence there. Three NU players in position to get the defensive rebound and they tip the ball out of bounds.
Immediately after there were four cats standing under the rim doing nothing while a lone badger ran in and grabbed it

I hope the second half was a positive learning experience for the team. Singleton and Clayton played well. Getting the final score respectable is frankly meaningful in the NET and rankings

yuck, other than that

Odd game. The things we’ve done well this season - assist/turnover ratio, make open threes, close outs - we failed miserably on, and our terrible weakness became a strength. Another game where Mullins got buried on the bench as the other team’s shooter had flames coming off his shots - is he hurt? Why is he in the doghouse? I wanted a Mullins/Windham backcourt the second Blackwell heated up and it didn’t arrive and suddenly we were down 25 and that was that.

Good things:

- Clayton got going. As he has become the most unpopular ‘Cat on this board i think we are in for a fun run in message board land because he and Windham are going to take Reid’s minutes if Reid can’t figure out how to defend or how to run our sets.
- Page can really fill it up and his passing is great, too. Wouldn’t mind if he stopped taking 3s, however.
-Kropp had some good minutes and looked less out of his depth. Promising.
- We got the message on getting physical on the glass and it showed.
- Singleton. He is really good.

Bad things:

- Where is Mullins? We give up 90 and our only plus defender gets bubkus?
- Five game minutes before Nick got a shot off and less than ten total shots. He has to get involved from the tip.
- Max Green needs more minutes. They’re going to have to come from Reid/Martinelli/Page to manage workloads and find a spark. I want a few more for Gelo and Mullins, too.
- We just aren’t deflecting weak passes like the past few seasons. Also we lose every 50/50 rebound as another poster pointed out. Some bad luck and some focus concerns. I don’t think it is an athleticism thing.

Ugly things:

- Bunch of turnovers either immediately following a Wiscy miscue or a good d sequence and runout chance. Timing on most of them was just killer. It stopped us from clawing back.
- I don’t recall a Wildcat whose highs were so high and whose lows were so low as Reid. Far and away our most gifted offensive guard and yet the offense just runs better with Windham or even Clayton tonight. More than enough quickness to cut off the dribble penetration that murdered us tonight and yet it just doesn’t happen. Gorgeous stroke from deep and yet sometimes just chucks a contested jumper up for no discernible reason. Can blow by defenders with ease but gets at least one terrible shot blocked every game in traffic. Should he be playing more or less? I honestly don’t know after 8 games.
