Idc if it's sexist. When women call the game its going on mute. Just horrendous. UK fans don't need to listen to someone talk about basketball as if they are reading a Basketball for Dummies book. This isnt Basketball 101. FFS that was brutal.
They should let @NociHTTP and me call games
I bet it would be quite entertaining

"And sitting here with us at the booth is Crawford. He got us started in our career by teaching us what the half of the full court is, how to make the basketball move forward and backward, even if our hand is going up and down".

At least neither of you would be announcing like you're speaking to a bunch of basketball-clueless viewers.

I'm guessing she announces this way because she's used to calling women's NCAA and possibly WNBA games where the fans watching are nowhere near as knowledgeable about the game as men's game viewers.

It definitely wasn't the A, B or C team on our game today.

yes, he is good
also watched St. Johns the other night. That Devion Smith that for some reason couldn't come to UK is very good as well.
either one of these guys would have been a big help
Give me small, he is a game changer offensively

Not a foul in KU game. Guy is straight up. He reached as Adams caught the ball, but he never made contact with the KU player. Easy no call... Now the over and back that didn't look like a good call.

It's not just sexist, it's also stupid. And most fans listening can't even read the Basketball For Dummies book.

And announcers aren't there to professionally coach the viewers through the game. They are there to entertain.

Do you think Jim Nantz has professional coach knowledge of all those different sports he calls? He's fed stats and is there to entertain.

But smart of you to turn off the volume. I recommend everyone do that for all games.

Carolyn Peck is her name and she is 100 times better than listening to Cameron Mills or some of the other SEC network guys call a game. He was brutal when we had him in those early games. Yeah, calling out an announcer just because they are female is a little odd.

I think he has too much. He looks for his shot more than anyone.

I don't see it but thats jmo. Athletically he can compete but he cant handle and now can't shoot or finish.
I think he could make the game easier for himself if he would work for easy shots before taking shots that would be well behind the NBA line.

I have felt from the start of the season that KU was and is overrated.
The pieces don’t fit together. Storr and Dickinson both need to be the main guy offensively to be effective, and neither one can guard a soul. The other guys are all okay but none are great shooters.

Off topic, but Lexington, to visit as an out of stater, leaves a lot to be desired. Anyone else feel the same?

It's good for games and a couple nights on the downtown scene. That's about it for me.
Was here back in 17. Felt a little different. 21C museum hotel was not impressive at all. Anyway, **** happens and I should have just drove home. 🤣

If we had Dickinson, we would be crazy good. We just desperately need an upgrade in the low post.

The perfect big for us is big z’s brother at Illinois, he is a dream fit for popes offense
Heck, I believe Pope could make Z really work well for us. Z just needs someone who believes that a big man can be productive outside of the paint. Pope would be killing it with the use of Z's 3-point shooting. The true freedom to shoot the 3 would probably motivate Z to work harder on defense.

I'll be honest, I'd not be surprised if Z transfers back to UK next year. He is getting used poorly again and is very likely not getting the attention in Arkansas as he was at UK. And we are a 5 guy passing offense, ideal for his style.

In fact, if he stays in college and doesn't go back to play in Europe, I'll predict he comes back to Kentucky next year.

He is certainly a much better fit for Pope than Cal. Z obviously got poor advice that made him think going back to his tormentor was a great idea.

I hope your prediction is correct.

Whelp, I missed this one. I feel asleep and slept through it. I wasn't feeling great last night and couldn't sleep. Finally dozed off around 10 this morning and didn't wake up until 5.

Looks like we won though and didn't let them score above 60. Good work.

Missed posting during the game today, but seeing the KU clip buried within our game thread sure makes for an interesting review when I happen to miss something around here....

and there's actually interesting things to think about on this board these days !

where's noooneputsbabyinacorner at around here when ever there is a KU mention? he's always around here lurking. I'm interested in his take.

sacrilege, without getting his take on this latest jayhawk kerfluffel....

Go Big Blue !
