It was goaltending, but it was a crappy attempt for being so wide-open underneath the basket in the first place.

As wide open as he was, the ball should not have been bouncing around on the rim anyway.

but yes, it’s crazy that they can’t look at it, especially when you consider they can apparently look at a called goaltending several minutes later.

Think about it this way....there are tons of fouls that happen every play that don't get called. They couldn't stop the game and watch every play to make changes.
