That score is meaningless, although an eye sore for final stats/score given up. It only means something if UK forgets how to play on offense, which as I recall they did in last year's opener after getting a big lead. Thankfully that OC is now Southern Miss's so I don't see that happening again.

Gotta give you guys' offense credit. Lots of weapons and what looks to be a good playcaller. Keep it up and you guys will contend for the SEC east.

Hope they come out guns blazing in the 2nd. We need to make a statement and actually embarrass someone for once.

Edwards had a really rough 1st half. Hopefully he bounces back in the 2nd half. Our secondary has a chance to be the one bright spot on D but he needs to pick it up for sure. We are going to need help against the run this year from his spot.

Barker is no Patrick. He has the mental toughness to not fold as soon as the going gets tough.

Not ruining it for me. I was never sold on Dawson, I'm still not sold on Stoops as you know. Just tired of shaking my head at your posts as you are usually good.

The coaching seems to be a major upgrade.

Barker and receivers are doing great and oline improved.

Can the defense stop the run verses a SEC team? Thats bothering me.

Brian, we are gonna have to outscore SEC teams to win most likely. D just has to bend but not break a ton, and force some TO's (like tonight).

whatever happens in the second half this team looks the part more than any UK team for some time . By that I mean our players look closer to sec counterparts and were faster across the board than we've ever been . We may still be a year away from doing something really good but you can tell the program is being upgraded .

In other news:

-Harris is leading Bama in carries and yds
-Florida is struggling against UMass
-Chubb still is a beast
-Miss St was just as unimpressive as Vandy and South Carolina.......which "could" be good news for UK

-Barker accounted for 315 total yds of offense. UK on pace for >770 yds of offense.

That's why we needed to go with Barker last year to pay off this year , he had untapped potential and Pice was about as good as he was going to get . Pat ice could not make the throws that Barker has tonight , he just didn't have that ability to hit wrs in stride .

Really annoying how we can't even get refs to respect us at home against OOC teams like Southern Miss.

To be fair, we had as easy an INT as one can get and we dropped the dang thing.

Blake's drop could cost us a no point possession. Need a stop here on 3rd and make them chance the field goal.

I like the fact that our defense did something to make another team call a time out for once. Had it happen to our offense so many times the last two years. Nice to see someone else unprepared.

Cats are getting a little squishy on run D. Barker is going to have to keep the hot hand.

This is just like the opening game last year. Look great first half, then go flat and can't stop anything - repeating itself again this year.
