Madison beat Enka 26-21. Win number 2 for the patriots
I wasn't impressed. Take that in context:. I had high expectations. Strong arm, big and athletic. Made some bad decisions. Intercepted on first pass. Had another one that could have easily have been picked. Fumbled on a sack, but officials called him down. Watched a replay and ball was out while on his feet. I don't see him ever starting at UGA. But who am I? May look back in a few years and look foolish.
Murphy took too many hits to their coaching staff in one offseason. What I said after the Franklin game still holds true. Rabun was more talented man for man no question about it and they were always going to win this game, but Murphy didn't just get beat they got punked in a way that I've never seen from ANY Murphy team on their homefield. The lack of any fire from this team is evident and many of the same issues from Week 1 were still visible tonight. There were things that I observed tonight that were very disappointing and elicits strong concerns about the trajectory of this season.
Thanks. I thought Andrews had a great first half almost flawless. The coach had great play calling. Had to many flags in 2nd half which stalled 2 dives inside the 20 and need to work on long snap. Not bragging at all just thought our boys played tough. This team is made up of mainly Juniors & Sophomores Good luck to Mitchell from here on out. Good mountain people up there with a great football program
Murphy will be fine come Conference time. But letās all be real. Itās my opinion that there is little hope for anyone in the SMC winning State this year with no subdivision in 1A. I do think our conference top to bottom this year is the best itās ever been !
Almost every yard of passing was run after catch. Very deceptive. Screen pass after screen pass.
I donāt know about that. To much panic with the Big 3. Robbinsville, Murphy & Swain have played tough competition so far and even though they have lost some games donāt think for one minute that they will not make deep runs. Swain gave Franklin all they could handle last night and if not for many turnovers and players missing Robbinsville would have beaten Brevard . Murphy will be fine just wait on it. Donāt look past Andrews, Cherokee and Hayesville. The big 3 is so accustomed to winning against 2 & 3A schools in non conference games that after they lose one game they act like they are no hope for the season. Yes our conference will be more competitive but our teams will do well come playoffs but I donāt see a State Championship coming from the SMC
No ship coming that way fellas...much respect to ya..but with just one division..its gonna be super tough for a while...no hate..but gonna be tough for lots of teams..
Robbinsville could be in the running the next two years.

Makes it sweeter when ya do i suppose win it all against the bigger squads.. now teams cant say we would do this or that if we were in 1a/1aa...its all the same now...
Every year? Oh you mean the last 3 or 4 years. We don't celebrate 2nd or 3rd place finishes in the SMC, we celebrate state titles. Lol.
Who are we? If you ain't Murphy or Robbinsville you don't celebrate ****....

Yep can't teach speed and quickness. Good players make a coach look good most times.
The next "great" SMC team is probably Robbinsville in 2023. They'll be able to play with anybody in 1A that season.
