I just got back from Paris, where I wore my Gamecocks hat almost every day. I got some "Go Cocks!" shout-outs at various airports and saw some other SEC fans in Paris and Normandy, but didn't spot another overt Gamecock fan until, I thought, on Monday, which happened to be the one time I wasn't wearing my hat. A guy was wearing a Gamecock hat as he passed in a group of tourists. I shouted out "There goes a Gamecock fan!" as I pointed at him, but he and his wife just smiled and kept walking. About an hour later, I spotted them again in a souvenir shop, so I walked up and asked if they were from South Carolina. They just smiled and shook their head "no." So, I pointed to his hat and said something like "Your Gamecocks hat." Again, just head shakes. They had no idea what I was saying. So, I pulled off my own hat (not a Gamecocks hat that day) and pointed at it and then pointed to his hat and said "South Carolina Gamecocks." Again, just smiles and head shakes as they went back to looking at souvenirs and talking to themselves in a foreign language I interpreted as German. So, apparently, there is some guy in another country, perhaps Germany, with a Gamecocks hat he knows absolutely nothing about.

I knew I was taking a chance posting something that wasn't about Coastal's baseball team, water quality in Greenville, or WNBA ratings, but I rolled the dice anyway.
We saw one and chatted him up in Dublin, Ireland.

I must, however, compliment you on your almost flawless use of adult punctuation.

I enjoyed the story as a fellow traveler and gamecock.

I ran into a guy at wearing a Gamecock hat at the Tower of London. I spoke to him and found out that he lived about 15 miles from me.
