Bullcrap that SC got to play 100 miles away from campus....as a 7 seed. Whatever though just another road bump
Not blaming it on no laws. You could've swapped Dayton and SC. Tell me the NCAA don't care about ticket sales and I'll call you a liar
SC flat out dominated Marquette from the 9 minute point to the end of the game. Their defense was crushing, and the offense was almost as good. SC will be playing essentially a home game against Duke, and we've more than got our hands full. Duke will have to bring their A game to win, and that includes playing some defense, and rebounding.

What are ya'lls initial feelings about the matchup? The Gamecocks looked good but I feel like Coach K will pull it out somehow.
No 7 seed deserves HC advantage Idc if they got left out or not. If they were a 1 or 2 then yeah thats fine
Duke isn't that far away either and have fans everywhere. We have nothing to complain about. There should be equal representation.
It's smart on the NCAA part but over the years, we stay getting home field advantage.
Our neutral court games in NY and DC tend to be home games too.
Their defensive intensity worries me. Can we match it, I doubt it, but we've got to at least play hard and smart on defense. And we can't afford early foul trouble against this team. We're a much more athletic team than Marquette, so that will certainly be in our favor. Our guys have to be ready, our offense needs to be clicking, and we need to keep their crowd out of the game because the Gamecocks rode that hard to finish off Marquette.

First time in a long stretch that we've looked good at all, in fact we've looked down right bad since January.
It doesn't matter where Duke plays. Every game in the tournament is a road game. I hated seeing Duke playing at the same venue as the Holes even if was in North Carolina. It will be a fierce crowd pulling against Duke Sunday night.
If Duke can't beat a #7 seed in SC who struggled in the SEC conference then this team ain't winning this year. I feel like Duke can win by atleast 10 points. Play smart offensively and communicate defensively and they should be fine.
Sure, we should win, but I'm still worried. Fear no one, but respect everyone. K will have them ready, and Amile, Matt & Grayson's NCAA championship experience help immensely. Looking forward to the game.

Unfortunately there isn't, at all. SC packed that place last night and there was a lot more SC fans then Duke, and they were very loud. Our team is battle tested and this will definitely be a hard fought game, but our guys should get the W.
I know, I'm down here so hopefully we will have more Duke fans in the building on Sunday because the SC fans were very loud

I'm a lot more worried about Baylor suddenly turning it on and then the defending champs. At the same time, this team seems to play to it's competition. I really hope they take this game as seriously as they did the ACC champ game
No way SC as a 7 should be there. But Duke has won tougher road games this year. I remember the NCAA doing this to Pitt giving them Wisconsin in Green Bay. I believe Pitt was a 3 and Wisconsin was a 6 or 11.

I think SC is a good team, however they beat Florida at home by a bucket and got hammered in Gainesville if I'm not mistaken. I bring that up as our common opponent.

People bringing up Duke playing tournament games in Charlotte or Greensboro are missing an obvious, fundamental difference: Duke got that proximity for being a 1 or 2 seed. Not a 7 seed. I think it is something that should be looked at. But nothing to be done about that now.
But Duke has played in many tough venues, they'll be ready. I know the knock on SC was they can struggle offensively, but not that wasn't the case yesterday. I know Marquette isn't a good defensive team, but even so, SC was really flowing and scoring.

The committee punked Duke either way with this match up. The fighting Wojo's or a home game for SC with unx fans hate cheering. SC as a 7 seed does not deserve this placement. It will be an ugly environment. It is not what this is supposed to be about. Oh, wait it's Duke and the rules are different. Go get this one boys!!!
If it had been played in Charlotte it would have actually been closer to the USC campus so NC laws may be a good thing for us lol
The committee was also thinking of the students academics with an essential 9.00 start time for two east coast teams playing on the east coast. They want most of the nation to see a hyped crowd against Duke. Student-Athlete. We do have something to complain about.
I meant, we as in Duke, have nothing to complain about. Besides I am an alum of both schools. When I say "we", I could mean both teams. I just don't get the complaints about a 7 seed being close to home. A lower seed lucking out against a higher seed happens all the time. We are Duke. Win anyway.

We are favored by 10. One of the highest margins for second round games. Some of you guys need to relax
