Bobby has made mistakes, no doubt. He had made amends with Jurich while he was still riding high at Arkansas. His kids loved Louisville and his daughter was a UofL scholarship athlete while he was at Arkansas. There is a connection. Will be a while before he leaves again if he does at all. That said, this is big time sports and a great coach will always be a risk to leave if you are not Bama, Ohio St etc and they still lose them to the NFL. We both have that luxery in BB just not FB (yet anyway). Just have to have the athletic department with the ability to find the next good replacement and the will to make the change..,eventually you can become enough of a destination it is harder to intice them away.

Imho, going after a succesful G5 headcoach or truley rising superstar coordinater isnt a bad stratagy. That is where we got BP to begin with. Strong had bern brought up several times for HC but never given a chance despite his experience at top programs. Just have to be open to the possibilities and have the commitment to give your coach what he needs to succeed...once guys see that, they could be willing to take a chance on a program that has historical struggles.
Bobby has made mistakes Hey Doc that's MILD ..Lied to Tommy T 3 TIMES about job offers quit Falcons in middle of the night and wrote players a mimeographed going away letter..Then screwed a Arky volleyball player and hired her as his Secretary ..shall I continue..[winking][winking] Hate for you to be my Doctor..Jeez what Med School did you go to uavel...mmmmm never mind..maybe you can treat Pitino's gift from Sypher..Typical Lil BROTHER try to soft soap the problems of your slimeball Coach..[eyeroll][eyeroll][eyeroll][eyeroll][eyeroll]

I am being a respectful guest. Petrino has thus far been a model citizen on his return. Hopefully it continues as does his on field success. With some luck your program might find someone who can do the same for you

I'm happy for my UL friends (live in Louisville). Good for them. Especially considering such a horrible hire they made when $trong left (sarcasm).

But, but, but.. Petrino will never be hired by a D1 program again. The media will be all over the team who hires him. Negative press after negative press. He'll never get a good staff to work for him because he's an a$$hole. No bigtime QB will play for that guy... Need I go on?
No, you have pretty much confirmed your ignorance already.

Interesting take from you all.

Game like this good for the state as a whole.

While I want us to beat you every year (hopefully up to task in both BB and FB this year), the rivalry is much more fun when both programs are on more equal footing. The final 4 face off between us was outstanding in the build up and the atmosphere. Would be great if we had the same in FB. One of our best friends as a family is a UK grad and while we give each other grief we realize it s better for both if the other is successful. Hope you get it turned around. It will be up to us to rise to the occasion when you do.

You will destroy us in Football but BBALL you will never win much against us period! I hope you all lay 77 on us if Stoops is still coaching. Give him a good exit out of the state. If that pisses off fellow UK fans O dont give a crap! Stoops needs to go and that would put salt in the wounds of Mitch!

Petrino will be at U of L for a long time and as long as he is there they will own us on the football field. They are in a major conference and in the future will seldom fall out of the top 25. They have arrived to the big time and we are a national embarrassment. Both schools are in Kentucky, I ask you to explain why they have found success and we are a total joke. Thank you BOT & Mormon Mitch.

There is much chance of UL being up to task to beat UK in basketball as there is of UK beating UL in football this year IMO.

I'd love to make fun of uofl and petrino but facts is I envy them. I know they lack any sort of oversight or ethic over there but I prefer that to sitting in church with Mitch every Saturday and seeing us get our *** whipped.

Some people just can't grasp the disparity in popularity between the two sports. Football is king and to the vast majority of people bball is an afterthought.

You hope but it's not going to happen. Face it. We're the football clowns and they are joining the elite.

This!!

In American Sports it is the NFL by a huge margin followed by College Football...all you have to do is watch Sports Center...College Basketball doesn't get mentioned until after NFL, College Football, MLB, NBA & than College Basketball...

Cal has had Ricks number but we are relatively much more competitive in BB (even beating UK on the way to a title in recent years) compared to where UK FB has been on average. My point was it is better if we both are conpetitve in the major sports. Regardless of trends in who wins, rivalries where both teams are nationally competitive generate good press for both programs.

UL has earned this game, and a win Saturday could open a lot of doors for them depending on how the rest of the season plays out. I don't have to like them, but I can respect the progress they've made and you can bet I will be watching because it should be a great game. Lamar Jackson may be the most fun player to watch in all of college football.

Odds on favorite is former NFL pro-bowler and All-American linebacker for Lee Corso: Tom Jackson.
I am thinking it will certainly be Jennifer Lawrence. She's the biggest celeb from the city or the state for that matter. Plus she's a huge Cards fan. Have to think she's pumped for Game Day being here.

As good as Lamar Jackson has been, have been hearing rave reviews of what Jawon Pass has been doing in practice. He looks so much bigger than any QB I can remember in recent memory. He's been really improving in practice. He's a redshirt...
Talented & getting deeper by the year...Bobby Ball is back!!!

And that is why winning cures all. Petrino is an SOB, but have not heard of him breaking any NCAA rules, so at least he is winning honestly.
If every person was held to the lofty standards, i.e. no affairs and being a please, thank you, yes sir, no ma'am, pure morally person, the world would be better. But I doubt any here are that way all the time.
We like our glass houses. BUT WE WANT TO WIN FOOTBALL GAMES TOO.

Stoops was a Boyle Coach award finalist. Meaning he was one of the best coordinators before we plucked him. Sometimes it does not translate well.

We recruit the SEC playground of Alabama, Georgia, and have reached up into Ohio. The top players from those areas are Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Ohio St, Michigan bound. Anyone escaping those schools has either question marks or issues.
As said in another thread, Louisville recruits Florida. Those players are known for speed and skill.
Perhaps we can break into Texas. But even then we are facing Texas, Texas A&M, etc..

yes, but for some reason, I don't think DCs make good HCs. Of course, there are exceptions, but I just think top OCs make better HCs. Not sure why that is so true, but it is.
