ITS GAMEDAY!!!!! Today the Tulsa men take on the New Mexico State Aggies. This is the Texas Legends Showcase. Texas Legends is an NBA development team in Frisco, Texas. There is no TV for this game so either you went to Frisco or your listening to Bruce. We have a large slate of games as we enter the middle of December. We are starting to wind down the Non Conference slate and move into Conference play come January.

Looking at our 9-1 start made me look for our best season ever and that is the 1999-2000 season. Tulsa Started 7-1 with that loss to ORU. Our record at our next loss was 20-2 when we lost to Fresno State in Fresno 75-73. This is also the last time before this year that we won an inseason tournament by winning the Puerto Rico Classic. Tulsa did lose to Fresno State 3 times that year. 73-72 at home and then 75-72 in the WAC Finals. This is also the year we went to the Elite 8 and lost to North Carolina. I know we are not playing some of the bigger teams in this schedule but the teams we are playing we are winning by a large margin. We will beat ourselves up over the Kansas State Loss Just like all 5 of the losses in that season were winnable games including UNC. We have a special group of guys this year. I hope people will show up for them come conference time.

We had a dirty Santa at our work on Friday , my gift was a free steak dinner and tickets to the TU vs Memphis game , peaked people’s interest and now I’m brining 6 to that game

The second half of that game was as ugly as we have played all season. Konkol and crew need to get an answer for that because you best believe every team in the American is looking at TU at the moment to try and figure out how to stop them. Even though the second half was not efficient, we moved up 8 spots in the NET and are now at 39. We are an at large at the moment with a 39 NET. Doest matter our SOS we are rated that high for a reason and it’s the production they have had. I will say this though with the gap between us and the rest of the conference widening, we lose a game and that is going to be devastating for our NET. Wichita State dropped a close one to DePaul and dropped over 20 spots in the NET. To be honest that game was more of who wanted to lose the game more. Both those teams sucked something fierce.

We have two games left to play in our non-conference schedule and they are within the next 8 days and then we open conference play, on NYE, against Rice at home to end 2025. With the strength of our schedule we might have to win every game by 10 or more to keep ourselves up there. I did a once over our schedule and this is how the Q ratings look at the moment. Remember we are a Q1 whatever to every team we play at the moment. I know that we complained about the Non Con schedule but our biggest problems is our own conference. The non con is pretty balanced with 3 and 4 but we are loaded with 4’s in our own conference.
