Looking at the current standings and upcoming schedules we're likely going to have to beat Memphis to avoid the 8th seed and a second round matchup with Houston. Probably the worst possible scenario for us.

If UConn and SMU beat USF and Wichita State, AND we only lose to Memphis then we will take the 6th seed. Both USF and Wichita State play UConn and SMU. This will put us in a tie with USF and 1 game above Wichita State. This will secure the 6th Seed.

If that can happen then we are looking at Playing UCF in the second round then Cincinnati and then Houston.

That would obviously be best case. We will know if we have a shot of passing WSU in less than 7 hours.

Lmao!! That is very true but the scenario I laid out allows us to lose a game and for them to lose games that are very possible to lose. This is best case but very doable.

True but if WSU wins tonight then they would only need to win one more game to finish ahead of us in the standings. They have games left against Tulane and ECU. There's no way they're losing both of those games imo. All assuming we lose at Memphis.

Wichita is 6-8 with games remaining with UConn and ECU at home and Tulane and SMU away. If they do lose to UConn and SMU and win the other 2, they’d finish at 8-10.

We currently are at 6-9 with home games against Tulane and ECU and at Memphis. If we win the 2 home games and lose st Memphis (likely) we end up at 8-10 also.

But we lose the tie breaker since we lost twice to Wichita.

USF is 7-8 with games at UConn and Tulane and a home game against SMU. If they do lose to UConn and SMU and win against Tulane, they’d finish tied with us at 8-10 and we’d win the tie breaker.

That would put us as 7th, WSU at 6th and USF at 8.

We need to win out to have a chance at 6th and that is with WSU going 1-3, which is unlikely. If we lose at Memphis, USF would finish ahead of us by going 2-1, which is probable with a win at Tulane and at home against SMU.

So unless I’m missing something, we have to win at Memphis and WSU has to go no better than 2-2 for us to claim 6th.

With the remaining schedules, I see us finishing 8th. Sad, but that’s what we get for blowing games against Cincy, UCF and WSU.

I will say I miscounted on the WSU total so you are correct. I do feel that USF could very well lose to both UConn and SMU. I will say I stand corrected. In that we would have to beat Memphis (I want that to happen anyway).

WSU hits game winner at the buzzer. Pretty much locks us into the 7th or 8th. Still think we have an outside shot to get above South Fla for 7. We hold the tie breaker.

***praying*** Dear baby Jesus , can you please see to it that Wichita state has a complete breakdown and lose the rest of their games and that USF can suck for 2 games so we can still get that 6 seed. I’d appreciate that. In Jesus name I pray!! AMEN
