I never thought I'd question getting rid of Pelini but if this is the best we could get to replace him ,we might as well have kept him and made him earn that big salary he is getting.

Coaching needs to improve immensely. Losing hasn't been the issue, it is the dumpster fires we've been seeing on the field. Nothing I've seen so far has me believing we are going to see anything different than we've seen for the past 16+ years.

Pelini needed to go, but it's beginning to look like Banker's scheme is not going to work.

So we're just discounting the first half? A defense young at several key positions come out and shuts a team out in the first half goes in with a lead, then lets up and looks soft. This is something that is seen early in seasons often.

You learn from this and go back to the grind stone. Are you surprised our secondary looked suspect? Has it not looked like that all year? We're going to need to recruit linebackers and d backs hard but if you gave Pelini seven years you can't even think of jettisoning Riley after two close loses and a close win.

So we don't give Riley and crew a chance to recruit at all, just say GTFO you didn't win year one. These are Pelini recruits, running a new system they weren't recruited for. If anything is an indictment of Pelini and shows he shouldn't be here its the class gaps we have at key positions.

It's not all on Banker. Look at all of the flags on offense. The line can't block and our RB's don't run well either even when there is a hole.

I'll have what you're drinking. This is game 3, not game 1.

Remember, these are his players and they are not that great. I know, tough pill to swallow guys but it is reality.

I'll share my liptons ice tea with you. We had never been in that situation before with young kids. Obviously your anti this staff sentiment is coloring your view of the game.

How mans defensive starters were out today? Seriously the 4 game sky is falling is just well stupid. Seriously how many games has the team had all 11 starters that were expected to start the season.

The foolishness on here is rising as a brain cells are lowering.

I'm not anti-this staff. I'm just not sold on this staff after the last 4 games. I'll give them time to recruit, but when you can barely beat Southern Miss with our current talent, it really makes me question coaching ability.

Our pass defense was not this bad last year. What's changed drastically in the secondary? Cooper & Mitchell were solid but they weren't freaking Ronnie Lott and Revis back there. The talent is there right now, this year. the coaches aren't giving them a chance. Banker did this in San Diego & Oregon St., he's the worst when it comes to defending the pass. PS I love that it's OK to throw the players under the bus by saying they don't have the talent but it's not ok to throw a bad coach under the bus. I love our players and I don't do that to them. They will always be huskers. These coaches won't. Banker and this D staff have done a very poor job since arriving in Lincoln and the worst part is no matter how bad he gets, we are stuck with him because Riley will never cut ties.

So since it's game 3 (actually game 4) literally EVERYTHING should be ironed out?
No, I don't expect perfection. What I don't expect is our secondary to be torched all game. We've had 3 games before this. If you can't muster up a decent secondary scheme to not get completely owned by the pass, that's concerning.

Game 4, but you've been complaining since Game 1 so it really doesn't matter. You've made up your mind to villify the coach no matter the circumstances.

Exactly. If anything Cooper was suspect last year. It's not a lack of talent issue. It's a scheme and coaching issue. It's that simple.

What changed since last year? The scheme quit being designed to cover the lack of secondary talent. You remember last year when we couldn't stop t he run in big games, but we could stuff the pass? When your scheme switches focus it exposes the weaknesses of player recruited to the old one. It does no good moving forward to play the style of defense we used to play when it isn't what we are going to do going forward. There is going to be growing pains, but they will be better next year as a result.

Tell me one thing I've complained about that isn't a valid criticism. I'd be saying the same thing if Bo was still coaching and this was happening. It isn't a personal thing, it's an observation thing.

And I've said, my jury is out on this staff. I like them as people, but 4 games in I'm not sold on them as coaches. It is my hope of hopes they figure this out, but I'm concerned.
