Manager: "I'm giving you a promotion and a $40,000 raise!"
Employee: "What? Why??! No.."
Manager: "Huh? I don't get it, why would you not want it?"
Employee: "Now I'll have to pay more taxes!"
You'd be surprised how often that happens, but more so with self employeds. I always offer to raise my fee by the amount of their raise.

Also, won't OPEC and Putin gain with higher oil costs?

Edit: Full disclosure, I did not read the link provided by the OP.
I didn’t read it either.

In the immediate, yes. However, we’re starting to increase our exports which will cut theirs. This will last a little while, but they’ll end up having to bring their agreed to levels/proving down. It’s kind of a trade war, that we can win.

......at the expense of the consumer.

There, I finished your unfinished statement about the trade war. [thumbsup]

What I've heard over the last year is that the higher prices go, the more effective our oil shale is... not everything has been upgraded to lower cost. I wish I knew more details. There is still a glut worldwide in the market, tankers are sitting full. OPEC is raising their prices, does that mean they're cutting supply? If so, we will take more and more marketshare.

You are a simpleton. The prices would be leveraged and go higher and negatively impact the consumer moreso if we don’t do this. Our actions are actually designed to create more volume for US companies enabling them to flood the market with additional supply which brings the cost down.

Just stop posting about **** you don’t understand which means we won’t hear much from you.

Forgive me if I don't hire you as my oil/gasoline price analyst.
