Meh, totally worth it if we can save the planet.Watched a video of an Opec exec who said "the west need to accept $10 to $12 gas. The days of of $3 to $5 gas are over". It was translation so I'll see if I can find a print out of the translation.
Well crap. Heading over to the beach a Cumberland Farms store had it for $3.09$3.15 in Fort Pierce, FL this AM.
BTW, if you have an Amazon Chase Visa, you can get 10% back on gas through the end of the year.
I found out yesterday you have to opt-in to get this offer and it's not good at a supermarket like Kroger that sells gas. But I'm in anyway!$3.15 in Fort Pierce, FL this AM.

Merchants in the grocery stores category include supermarkets, merchants that offer a full service grocery line of merchandise including a deli and bakery as well as smaller grocery stores. Some merchants that sell grocery items are not included in this category; for example, larger stores that sell a wide variety of goods and groceries, such as warehouse clubs, discount stores and some smaller merchants such as drugstores, and merchants that specialize in only a few grocery items. Purchases made at gas stations from merchants who also operate grocery stores are not included in this category. Delivery service merchants will be included if they classify as a grocery store merchant.
Combine that with certain credit cards and you're looking at decent savings.I found out yesterday you have to opt-in to get this offer and it's not good at a supermarket like Kroger that sells gas. But I'm in anyway!
You have to use the Amazon Prime CC but I'll just find other gas stations thru the end of the year. UDF and Speedway are usually the cheapest for gas anyway. I'm guessing the savings is about $8 - $12 per month. One free 6-pack per month is worth it for me.Combine that with certain credit cards and you're looking at decent savings.
I've saved $13 in October so far. I usually fill up every two weeks and fill the wife's car up maybe once a month, which we'll do tomorrow. We're going back to TN for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so that'll add more, but I'd guess we'll save around $80-$100 before the end of the year, depending how much we drive when we go back to TN.You have to use the Amazon Prime CC but I'll just find other gas stations thru the end of the year. I also game CC with cash back on my BOA Visa. Receive 3% cash back on gas when traveling back to KY/TN. Immediately upon return and just before turning rental car in, I switch from gas to travel, and receive 3% cash-back on the rental. Combine with Swagbucks and gain another 2% on car rental. While up in KY, I always buy Thanksgiving meal (~$150) and receive another 2% back for groceries. Works out okay. Not into air miles because I'm no longer traveling to Germany as much.I've saved $13 in October so far. I have that BOA card too. I recently switched it to 3% at drug stores. My wife has one for 3% on dining, but I recently got a Sam's that gives me 5% back on gas, and my wife's Discover has a 3 or 4 month window where we get 5% on gas. I also highly recommend the Fidelity (if you have a Fidelity account) Visa where you get 2% back on everything. We use that to pay utilities, insurance, medical, ect. Another good one is the Amex Blue, which gets you 6% back on grocery stores (Kroger, Publix, Food City, Aldi, etc) with the exception of Walmart, Sam's, Costco, Target or other wholesale clubs for up to $6K a year. It's a $90 annual fee, but still pays off nicely.I also game CC with cash back on my BOA Visa. Receive 3% cash back on gas when traveling back to KY/TN. Wow! Thanks for the info. I have Fidelity IRA and Roth IRA accounts, former since 2006. Additionally, wife's scripts go through CVS. I'll give it a serious look.I have that BOA card too. In addition, it's not a credit card, but I highly recommend getting a CVS Care Pass account. It's $48 a year if you pay the membership in full and $60 if you do it monthly. So far this year we've saved $581 with all of the discounts and coupons. Yesterday we needed some things from CVS and the original total came to $64.25. With the discounts and $5 off coupon, the final total was $28.98. It felt like I was stealing.
I have both the BofA and Chase Freedom cash back cards. Chase is 5% cash back for shopping at Walmart this quarter.I also game CC with cash back on my BOA Visa. Saw a story on it the other day that they said diesel would spike higher than gas because of this. Trucks can't fill up at one stop so will have to go to 2 or 3 distributors just to get enough fuel for a full load. They said it would hit the northeast worst. Southeast would be 2nd... which sucks because it should be Cali eating that turd.
We have the BofA and AmEx card but we go thru the 6% cash savings before summer is over because the $6000 limit is reached. By September, we're using other cash back cards thru the end of the year. I just used the AmEx cash back from 2021 this week on my October bill. Well, $350 of it anyway.I have that BOA card too. I recently switched it to 3% at drug stores. Fluctuating between 2.90-2.99 here in Augusta, Ga
It's $48 for a year, and you automatically get a $10 off total purchase coupon every month. You get 20% off all CVS brand products. You get various coupons like 40% off your most expensive item, $8 and $5 off coupons. After you've established your shopping habits with your account, you'll start getting coupons for the items you purchase most. You just need to check your emails you get from CVS and load the ones you want onto your account. When you check out (we always use self checkout) all you have to do is enter your phone number or scan your card. After you scan your items, it'll bring up the coupons you have available and ask if you individually which ones to use. We've walked out plenty of times with $20 or more in savings. I once walked out with over $14 worth of stuff that I paid like 60 cents for.Wow! Thanks for the info. I have Fidelity IRA and Roth IRA accounts, former since 2006. Thanks again!
My wife's Discover card has a cycle where we get 5% back at grocery stores for 3 months. Couple that with the AmEx card and we're getting a nice discount for most of the year on groceries. I always open any emails I get from my credit cards, even if the header looks like something I wouldn't be interested in. This week I got one from my Discover Miles that offered me 1000 miles if I used the "tap" feature 3X between now and the end of November. We have the BofA and AmEx card but we go thru the 6% cash savings before summer is over because the $6000 limit is reached. Ate upJust heard another tip. Joe Biden said don't buy Kellogg’s Raisin Bran because you can get the generic **** for a dollar cheaper.
More like fed up. And so is the majority of the country.Ate up
So how serious is this imminent diesel fuel shortage for America? The administration is being quiet about it.
